Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Thank you for a brilliant stay at Meadowsweet Farm. The site is excellent - lovely and peaceful, but with plenty of space and in a beautiful setting. Our kids loved the animals and making new friends. It has an excellent location for quickly getting to some of the best beaches in Devon. And the facilities were great, particularly the warm shower which was amongst the best I have ever experienced at a campsite. All in all, a wonderful stay. Plan to return next year!

Local attractions

Nature likes to spread its feathers in this area and it shows… almost on your doorstep are Swanpool Marsh Nature Reserve (15 minutes’ walk), which makes a nice contrast to clifftop curves of the north Devon coast and the steep drops along the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast (45 minutes' drive). The beach is calling too: at Saunton Sands (five minutes), paddleboarding, sailing and wakeboarding are common pursuits. And depending on your skill level, you could whip out (or rent) a surfboard or bodyboard for days at Croyde (10 minutes) or Woolacombe (20 minutes). Perhaps create a coastal bucket list, as this area harbours many National Trust sites, from the clifftops of Baggy Point (15 minutes) to the horsedrawn carriage collection at the peaceful neoclassical Arlington Court (35 minutes). Kids tagging along? They’ll likely have a roaring time at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (half an hour). Find more rides, this time farm-themed, at The BIG Sheep (half an hour).
