Views across the countryside

  • Working farm site in Georgeham, two miles from the north Devon coast
  • Within easy reach of several award-winning surfing beaches
  • A five-minute stroll to two village pubs, a shop and a post office
Perfect your surf technique, swing your golf clubs, take a seaside saunter… alfresco antics await for guests at Incledon Farm Campsite, on a working farm at the edge of the Devon village of Georgeham. From this scenic spot 10 minutes' drive from Braunton in the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there’s easy access to the South West Coast Path and some of north Devon’s most fab beaches: it’s just a couple of miles to Woolacombe, Putsborough and Croyde beaches, and a 15-minutes drive to Saunton Sands. Pitches are set across two fields – The Platt and The Meadow – both of which have cracking views across the surrounding countryside. Allocated as you arrive, some pitches are level, but for the most part they've got a gentle slope. Wherever you set up, there's plenty of space for barbecues or running about (this is the kind of place that’s prone to spontaneous sociable games of footie or rounders while the coals get going). Reviews from previous guests have heaped praise on two particular aspects of the place: the friendly owners and the proximity of two local pubs, both a five-minute stroll away along with a shop selling essentials and local produce. Amenities at Incledon Farm Campsite include flushing toilets and hot showers.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Beautiful setting, open field and very relaxing. Hilly but we pitched up near the hedges where it was level. Loos and showers were clean with plenty of hot water. Pretty flower boxes and very healthy-looking hens roaming free around the farm. We ate at the Kings arms one evening which is 5 mins walk, very cosy and good food. Very lucky with the weather too with 3 sunny days in the surf at Croyde! Will be back next summer.

Disliked: No WiFi but actually didn’t miss it

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Location close to great North Devon beaches. Good clean toilets, wash area and showers. Safe ad friendly for younger children (7 and 9) to run and play within the campsite. Daily fresh eggs to buy—good pubs in the village. John and wife running the farm and campsite very friendly and helpful for local things to do.

Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely setting, just a short walk from the village with two great pubs. Ideal location for all the surf beaches. Friendly and helpful staff. Great showers. Lots of space. Dog friendly.

Disliked: Would have been nice if there were picnic tables to use near the pitches. We only saw one in the entire field.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Fantastic family friendly site with Soo much space. Great for star spotting as very low light pollution. The showers were instantly warm and plentiful. The sourdough on the Saturday is awesome! Walking distance to two really good pubs. Overall a brilliant basic site and we would go back.

Disliked: Skinny country lanes, beware of caravans getting stuck lol

Local attractions

Gentle rambles or all-day hikes are both equally fine plans on the spectacular South West Coast Path a couple of miles away. If you’d rather cycle through the scenery, the traffic-free Tarka Trail is a popular pick, starting three miles away in Braunton and running through woods and alongside the estuary. The site's within easy reach of some of the country's most popular surfing beaches, with miles of golden sand at Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton Sands, all of which are less than 15 minutes away by car. If you’d prefer a bit of poking about in coastal villages, ride the world’s steepest water-powered railway in Lynmouth (45 minutes), or head to the cobbled streets of Clovelly (50 minutes). Tiddler-pleasing trips nearby include Exmoor Zoo (30 minutes) and the Milky Way Adventure Park (45 minutes). For golfing types, there are two good clubs in the immediate area – one at Woolacombe and another near Braunton with two award-winning 18-hole golf courses.
