Liked: Lovely location not far from Jamaica Inn. The scenery was amazing. Pitches are flat and well kept, toilets clean and there's a bar on site.

Liked: The site was very well situated and secluded. It was in amongst pine trees which was lovely. One night there was an amazing sunset. Nice level grass pitch. Friendly staff. When we visited even though it was school half term, it was so empty that we could choose wherever we wanted to go. The lake views and walks from the site without driving.
Disliked: We chose not to eat at the Tavern as we had read previous reviews and it was not recommended. Also, on the first night, the site was so quiet, we were concerned that we may have been the only people in the inn had we visited. The site was tatty with fences and other things in disrepair. There was rubbish dumped behind the bins which was unsightly and unhygienic. It all needed a bit of refurbishment eg old toilet blocks.

Liked: The lake when you could see it.
Disliked: Grounds are shabby and unkept.. facilities are poorly maintained..some showers out of order with the remainder only providing cold water, While the toilets looked reasonably clean they smelt like a pub toilet down Union street (Plymouth) after a busy Saturday night, the staff and when I say staff I use the word loosely as there was only one was receptionist, barman and waiter had very little grasp of the English language, drinks came with glasses that required a serious clean, as for the food absolutely atrocious, incorrect orders only part orders I.e fish chips and mushy peas - mushy peas came 15 minutes after the fish and chips, scampi and chips or scampi anyway..the chips arrived after everyone had finished their meals, serloin steak and chips.. sirloin was more fat than meat and cold ..mushrooms and tomatoes looked seriously reheated but we're still cold..and we all had to clean our cutlery on our t-shirts I also think the wooden chopping boards they serve on - seriously require replacing.. we were supposed to stay for the bank holiday weekend but decided to move on after one night..will definitely not be recommending..

Liked: The space and how well laid out it was. The setting was away from the main road and next to a beautiful reservoir/lake and even though we were out of season it looked like it would be very well established for a bustling summer as it had a park, bar and restaurant. The gentleman that owns it was so helpful and made us feel welcome.
Disliked: Nothing was open and it did not stipulate this on the booking so was hoping we would be able to use the main facilities as we were charged £50 for one night. Apart from that I would return if it was summer.
