Powered grass campsite

Liked: The campsite is very easy to get to and there are plenty of convenient amenities nearby. From the moment you drive in the campsite you'll notice it is neat and well maintained with a coded barrier to aid security. The pitches are very well maintained and clearly laid out with a gravel track running through the whole site. Toilets are immaculate and modern with good showers and dishwashing facilities are great with reliable hot water. There's plentiful power sockets that are well located and I usually bring a 20m lead but 5m would be enough. The dog exercise area is a great touch and has a fence running all around it. There is a bar on site that closes at 2230 and is very reasonably priced and is a nice place for visitors to socialise in a friendly atmosphere with great camper themed details all around the bar. The staff were brilliant, friendly and welcoming and were attentive to everyone on site and clearly work hard to keep the site so neat and tidy. They work as a catalyst to bring people together and I'm sure they are the reason there's so many repeat visitors. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning in the future.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Small and friendly campsite, very clean site had everything we needed, the on site pub is fantastic, the fenced off dog exercise area is really handy. Great location for st austell and surrounding area’s.

Disliked: Would of been handy to have another toilet/shower block at other side of camp, but being a small camp i can understand why they haven’t. Thats all.

Liked: Lovely little site which is very well maintained. There is a great off lead dog area! All the facilities were lovely and clean. And had the personal touch. This site put some of the other sites we stayed at recently to shame The owner was very helpful on our arrival and gave us a lovely tour of the site and told us all the best places to go. Would most definitely recommend and we would most definitely stay there again

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (maximum 8 metres)

Liked: Well laid out site with clearly defined level pitches. Clean modern showers and toilets. Good washing up area, Barrier entry system. Sheltered site. Onsite bar open until 10pm and pizzas on Saturday night.

Disliked: Could do with more toilets for the amount of pitches, I don't mind waiting for a shower but..... Wifi didn't work in the campervan only outside.

Local attractions

To mix in a bit of time at golden sands alongside green explores, get along to the sandy Cornish Riviera beach of Carlyon Bay, 20 minutes' drive away, for swimming and watersports including jetskiing and paddleboarding. If the surf’s up, the wave-catching hub of Newquay is 25 minutes' drive away: beetle over to this buzzing town on the county’s northern shores to frolic on famed Fistral beach, amble around an aquarium or check out some of the liveliest nightlife in Cornwall. If you like your coastal times to be a little calmer, consider wandering the cliffside paths within driving distance of the park; both the Polperro and Roseland heritage coasts are within half an hour’s drive for satisfying strolls with stunning scenery. Not hankering after a hike? Closer to the site at 10 minutes’ drive, the Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre outlines the maritime marauding that went on in Cornish during days of yore. Or have an amble around the biomes of the Eden Project or The Lost Gardens of Heligan (20 minutes away).
