What customers say

This campsite boasts stunning, unobstructed views of a reservoir and countryside, with a spacious, well-kept field. Praised for its peaceful vibe and prime West Cornwall location. Guests loved the friendly owners and essential amenities like fresh water and waste disposal. A slight slope is easily managed with ramps. Perfect for an "off-grid" stay with your own gear.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked This is a 5 unit campsite in a massive in well kept field that has stunning uninterrupted views over a reservoir and surrounding countryside.

Although Redruth may not feature on a top places to visit (it certainly wasn’t on ours) this campsite is perfectly sited for all the major sights of West Cornwall. Less than 30 mins to Penzance, St Michael’s Mount or St Ives, even closer is Falmouth and Lands End is less than an hour away. So many National Trust and heritage sites just a short journey away and then an evening of gorgeous views over a glass of wine, absolutely perfect. We stayed 4 nights and didn’t even scratch the surface of stuff to do.

Chip shop 5 mins away, which done great chips, even closer is a restaurant (which welcomes dogs) by the reservoir which was decent enough.

The owners are so helpful and friendly and you can see a huge effort has been made. Although there are some large marked grass pitches, the whole field is at campers disposal. Our dog absolutely loved it. Oh and did I mention the view?

The field does has a gentle slope but nothing outside the bounds of what standard levelling ramps are for.

Yes, you will need your own facilities and power, but this is what off grid is all about. I would not hesitate to stay here again and is certainly up there in the top CLs I have stayed at.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked A lovely warm welcome from Jane. The site is amazing! High up surrounded by open countryside with a spectacular view of the lake! What a fantastic site for sunrise and star gazing and a wonderfully kept field for dog walking or just chilling in the sunshine. Very reasonable price with clean toilet disposal point, drinking water and bins and recycling area. I would highly recommend!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked This is exactly the type of CL that we love. Fabulous views, peace and quiet and plenty of space. A warm welcome, walking distance to a pub and centrally located for easy access to all the area has to offer. Absolutely perfect! We’ll definitely be back. The entrance is no problem at all either so we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site to book for a short stay or lengthy holiday with confidence that you'll love it.
