  • Scenic and award-winning site filled with flowers
  • Two lakes for coarse fishing plus nature reserve
  • Heated pool, crazy golf, playgrounds, games room and licensed shop
This fabulously floral site has been giving a warm welcome for more than 50 years. The grounds are blooming lovely – even the fishing lakes are filled with lilies – and it’s easy to see why Trevella Holiday Park is a regular winner of the Newquay in Bloom contest, and why so many people come back here every summer. Little buds can shoot around the heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, crazy golf, games room and playgrounds for different ages. There’s free coarse fishing in the two lakes and a pretty nature reserve to explore and a licensed shop. The roomy pitches sit within handsome parkland and the high-quality amenities include family bathrooms, baby changing and a laundry room.

What customers say

This clean, well-kept campsite has friendly staff and great amenities. Guests loved the spacious sites and proximity to Newquay/beaches. The Piskie Inn and food van were hits. Some noted muddy pitches, shower temp issues, and Wi-Fi cost. Occasional noise reported.

Powered grass campsite

Liked There is a heated pool and large showers in the laundry room. The showers and toilets are very clean. There is also a lovely fishing lake, There were plenty of water stations, which were well located around the course.

Disliked I wasn't allowed to use the small pop-out tent for storage. I was required to buy another pitch. Other people were allowed to park two camper vans on one pitch.
The grass was cut on Sunday and Monday. The noise was so loud and unpleasant that it was difficult to relax or have a conversation with family members. Not to mention the cut grass that ended up everywhere, including on the shower walls. Despite asking the gentleman not to cut too close to us, there was wet grass all over our tent. The shower block close to our pitch was closed, so we had to use one that was quite a distance away. We were told that it's not peak season yet. If the park is open fully from April, I would expect everything to be open, especially over the May bank holiday weekend. Walking up the hill to do the dishes was difficult for disabled people and unpleasant for children who had to walk far in the dark to use the toilet at night.

Liked Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the holiday park. It was clean and well-kept, and the location is really great – very close to the sea and the nearby village, which made everything easily accessible. There’s also a well-stocked shop on site, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Disliked the cabin we rented could have been cleaner and had a slightly unusual smell. We also experienced some issues with the electricity – using a mini fridge or other electrical devices caused power cuts that affected multiple cabins, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, although there was a heater in the cabin, it didn’t seem to work at all and was never warm. As the weather over the weekend was quite rainy, the cabin felt damp, and it was difficult to dry wet shoes and clothes.

Disliked Too big. Staff at desk not that friendly and forgot to tell us that the shower/ toilet block near us was closed. Our pitch was as far away from working shower as it could be. Showers took ages to run warm and you had to press the button to keep water running about a very 20 seconds. Not great when you are washing your hair.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Good size pitch, nice showers and toilets and lovely smallest put in the south west! Food from the van was also very nice.

Disliked Dog walking area wasn't good at all! Very very small which is the main downfall for me. Also there looked to be nice lakes but no dogs permitted even if they were on a lead. Such a shame.

Local attractions

A quick meander along the verdant country lanes and pathways around Trevella can lead in various directions: a historic smugglers’ inn, a beach, Crantock’s thatched cottages and pretty village church, or to the Gannel estuary to fish, paddle, birdwatch or make the short hop on the ferry to Newquay. The latter probably needs no introduction, but on top of its famous beaches, it has a zoo, aquarium, farm park, boating lake and miniature railway – plus swimming pools (with flumes) and golf courses. This being Cornwall, visitors will find no shortage of ace attractions less than an hour away. Recommendations include losing oneself in the gardens at Heligan, taking in an atmospheric show at the open-air Minack Theatre, on the cliffs overlooking the sea; heading into the Eden Project’s massive crater, to examine the exotic flora in the jaw-dropping megadomes; and some painterly perusal at the Tate Gallery in St Ives. Then there are adventure parks, National Trust properties and open gardens galore; plus a lively programme of local land- and sea-based events, from festivals to carnivals, and regattas to traditional Cornish gig racing.
