  • Award-winning family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking tiddlers, the award-winning Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant and a fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

Liked: When we got to the pitch it was well looked after with zero issues. Everywhere was really pretty and we both enjoyed the entertainment. Security was on point with children playing with balls around cars and hitting tents and they made sure to say hello everytime they walked past and asked if we had any more issues but they were also discreet so we didn’t have an issue with neighbors after this point

Disliked: Pool was cold but we didn’t go at the best time all was looked after although changing facilities could be cleaned more regularly as it was quite dirty

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (premium)

Liked: Cleanliness of washroom and entertainment/facilities on site, also the site was well maintained such as planting on entrance. Good location by bus for newquay and Perranporth for days out. Liked that the site was dog friendly

Disliked: Paid for wifi but could not access it. Have asked for refund, but still waiting to hear how I apply for refund, after I raised it with staff on departure

Powered grass campsite

Liked: There's loads of things to do like mini golf, soft play, outdoor swimming and entertainment. Facilities were clean and pitches were lovely.

Disliked: We felt the Outdoor entertainment was great but the indoor entertainment was flat and dull. Would be amazing if there was an indoor and outdoor pool

Liked: We had a brilliant time, the staff were very friendly, the camp site is compact so easy to get around. Lots of security keeping the kids safe who all play out late... Nice and close to the beach I'd highly recommend for anyone just looking to get away for a few days and switch off.

The show for the children at night was excellent also the entertainment staff were so good and entertaining for the children and obviously monkey made there night ..everything you needed was on the camp food ..shop..laundrette etc ..the activities you can book onto for the children is also a great there is a charge but it is so worth it especially there faces when they have made something ..its definitely a place to take the children the weather wasn't on outrside but my grandson (aged 3) loved it all even the weather ..a place I would certainly go back to and recommend..

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires – or head over to Flambards in Helston (45 minutes) for flumes, rollercoasters and go karting.
