Powered grass campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: Shop staff very friendly and reception, showers and toilets clean a kept on top of never dirty.

Disliked: Entertainment was poor, acts cancelling without making anyone aware. very small site so hard to keep the kids entertained especially as the local town was so small. The staff who were assigned to entertain the kids were awful seemed to have little interest in them and preferred adults! it was more like children were an inconvenience. My children stayed very close to me as shy, but judging how they were with other peoples kids they just seemed to not like children. One guy seemed genuinely fun for the kids and very helpful all around though. Over priced and lacking in facilities but showers were very clean.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (maximum 8 metres)

Liked: Best I can say is the toilet and shower block was relatively clean and location to Looe was handy

Disliked: This is not a holiday park at all but a residential travellers site it seems. Riddled with beat up caravans, cars and vans speeding through the site at all hours, swearing and screaming from one caravan to the other. Was actually the most expensive site we have ever stayed £76 for 1 night with electric hook up. The so called dog friendly site allows dogs nowhere other than your own van or walking around site. Couldn’t leave soon enough in the morning. I’m never one to moan but this was dreadful me and my partner actually felt intimidated just walking to the toilet block with the amount of ones living in the site staring as we walked past.

Powered grass campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: Location - if you like walking, scenic and manageable distance from Looe and Polperro - both stunning. Back of the campsite takes you to south west coast path. Well kept grounds and pitches. Facilities needed (showers, water, waste, electric) adequate and clean.

Disliked: The pitches could have been more clearly marked as the numbers on the ground had mainly worn out and the numbers on the electric are opposites (e.g 30’s and 50’s on the same post). The food in the club house was not to my taste (not very healthy), so I had to cook at the van every night.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (maximum 8 metres)

Liked: We had a great 4 night break here. We were impressed by how welcoming and polite the staff were. All the facilities were very good, clean and warm.

Disliked: The fully serviced pitches are not level, with the drain at the high point. This caused a lot of tinkering to get grey waste away. Its a pleasant but longish walk into Looe, down a steep hill. It was difficult to get a taxi back to Tencreek later in the evening.

Local attractions

Oodles of activities and attractions await once you’ve dragged yourself off site: pootle around Looe’s Harbour Quay, Banjo Pier and the 16th-century Old Guildhall in East Looe, or take a boat to Looe (St George’s) Island, where just once a year on a very low tide it’s possible to stroll to it across the sand. Sea-based sightseers can go from Looe to Fowey and take the ferry to Polruan or Bodinnick and the former house of Daphne du Maurier (Daphne and Rebecca fans can also go ghost hunting at Cornwall’s legendary coaching house at Bodmin Moor, said to be the county’s most famous smuggling inn). Most day trippers take a car for the 12-mile Looe-Fowey journey, but if you’re feeling energetic enough and want to see some stunning coastal scenery, the local South West Coast Path hike goes from West Looe to Polruan via Hannafore, Talland Bay and Polperro. You officially have full permission to get a bus or taxi back…
