  • Small Cornwall campsite with sea views on the outskirts of Seaton
  • South West Coast Path and Seaton Beach both 20 minutes’ walk
  • Wildlife haven with a covered camp kitchen and freezer-block exchange
Easy-going vibe and a Cornwall beach nearby? You’ll be wanting Penhale Camping, a small, family-run campsite on the outskirts of Seaton, with spectacular views over Rame Head and to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. The handful of grass pitches are spread through two fairly level paddocks and have lots of space for guests to spread out and chill. No-frills amenities cover a small toilet block with a hot shower and two toilets (one for each sex). The indoor camp kitchen has two washing-up sinks and a freezer with free freezer blocks to exchange, and you can use the washing machine for a small extra charge. This is a very natural site, so please don’t expect gravel roads and manicured pitches. Wild flowers and weeds are welcomed, and as a consequence you should get to see a great variety of wildlife about the place; rabbits are very common and if you are up early, you may see deer wandering across the fields. Newts, toads and – if you are very quiet and lucky – lizards put in an occasional appearance too. Well-behaved dogs are permitted by arrangement, but they must be on leads at all times. You can exercise them on the bridleway down to Seaton Beach (20 minutes’ walk), or take longer strolls along the South West Coast Path, about the same distance from the site; overnighting hikers are also welcome to pitch up here too.

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked: Such a lovely welcome from the owners, and their lovely dog! We loved staying here. Lots of space for the children to play. Peaceful, spacious, no music/wifi so back to basics - as camping should be. Great location, near to Looe, Polperro and beaches. We would love to come back. Thanks for a wonderful few days.
