  • Spacious organic farm site and wildlife sanctuary
  • Kynance Cove and Lizard point within a 10-minute drive
  • Lunch boxes and organic farm produce available; Lizard village nearby
Wildflower Meadow is a spacious site that’s as much a sanctuary for guests to the Lizard Peninsula as it is for wildlife. You see, this site is part of an organic farm looking after rare habitat: a quiet ecology and wildlife sanctuary with natural habitats and wildflowers. At the same time, it’s a little under 10 minutes’ drive away from the UK’s most southerly point and comes with great facilities, including hot showers, a kids' play area and communal firepits and cooking equipment. You’re on the edge of Poldark country here, with many footpath and bridleway options from the campsite that lead to the South West Coast path. In addition, the campsite is surrounded by three nature reserves and is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site has a private area on the edge of the farm with its own entrance just off the A3083, so it’s fairly remote but easy to find and without neighbouring properties. This is a private-feeling place, as each pitch is cut into the meadow with generous distances between and framed by wildflowers such as wild mint, purple loosestrife, wild vetch and Cornish heath. As you might expect, firepits and smoking are not allowed, as the lush ecology poses a high fire risk. However, barbecues are allowed in a designated area. A herd of rare breed Golden Guernsey goats live on the farm, so personalised goat experiences are available to book. The farm also has lunch boxes or organic farm produce available, including raw organic goat milk, raw organic kefir, organic salad bags, in-season organic vegetables and organic artisan goats' cheese. As for food out and about, Lizard Village’s has a post office, butchers, shops for pasty, fish and chips or ice cream, two pubs and many cafés and gift shops, just five minutes’ drive away.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Really lovely eco campsite, plenty of space between pitches and lots of long grass and wildlife. Very relaxed and friendly site. The person taking bookings sited us on one of the larger pitches to allow extra space for the dogs which was very thoughtful. It was a good location for us with easy access to nearby footpaths. There is parking close to the tents and you can drive up to your pitch to unload and load etc.

Disliked: I wouldn't say there was much to dislike but one potential minor improvement might be to put a slight overhang on the toilet rooves as the gap at the top on the sides do let a bit of rain in.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us - and thank you for your suggestion for the improvement on our toilet roof. We hope to welcome you again soon.
