  • Pop-up campsite on a Cornish farm with views over St Austell Bay
  • A 15-minutes drive to The Eden Project and five minutes to Fowey
  • Pubs or cafés 10 minutes’ drive; bus stop for Fowey across the road
With some seriously gorgeous panoramas over St Austell Bay to Fowey, Tremanor Farm camping park is on a south-facing field with a gentle slope. This peaceful, pop-up site on a working Cornwall farm may have a wild-camping vibe but it comes with a number of facilities along with those amazing sea views. Amenities include separate loo blocks showers, a washing-up area and plenty of stand pipes with drinking water throughout the field. There’s loads of extra parking too if needs be – but please note, this site has no electricity, so come prepared with torches and a supply of batteries. Lovely seaside Fowey (five minutes’ drive) is on hand with plenty of shops for keeping supplies topped up, as well as a host of pubs, seafood restaurants and ice-cream parlours if you don’t fancy cooking. A bus stop with a connection to Fowey is just across the road, and if you need to do laundry, facilities are just over a mile away. The site is also 20 minutes' walk away (just over a mile) from a bar with good drinks and live music gigs throughout the year. The site is owned by a Cornish couple who have accumulated masses of local knowledge, so if you’re after handy tips on how to spend your time in the west country, please just ask away.

Liked Wonderful experience! The camp site has the most incredible views, Tessa took amazing care of us, making sure we were happy and situated and giving advice on local pubs. Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked The peace and quiet of the field with stunning views. We met the owner and she was very helpful and we had a lovely chat. The toilets and showers were nothing special but they worked and the water was hot. Don’t go if you want something fancy - but it had everything you needed and as I said at the beginning the peace and quiet - with the views weee brilliant.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Central to places I needed to be
Not expensive
Good view from the top of the hill
Spacious
Quiet & peaceful
If you like camping basic and unfussy (without a load of nonsense rules) this is for you!

Disliked Toilets (broken taps, sink area dirty and festooned with cobwebs & no paper towels for hands)
Showers (made very cheaply with wood, floor and bottom of walls filthy, nowhere private to change except wet shower cubicle)
Showers burning hot, not suitable for a child, only went for a minute before you had to press again (like swimming showers)

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The site is well situated for exploring mid-Cornwall. Fowey and Golant for paddle boarding just minutes away, and The Eden project only a few miles away.

We had a large open field, which meant we had lots of space to have a quiet evening watching the sun set over the sea view with a beer, bonus of picnic tables and BBQ blocks available to use.

A warm welcome from the host Tessa, with lots of great local knowledge and recommendation.

Facilities were good, hot showers after a day paddle boarding were heaven, and clean toilets. Plus recycling and bins.

Local attractions

The site’s location makes exploring Cornwall’s big-hitting attractions a breeze. You can tick off The Eden Project (15 minutes’ drive), with its futuristic biospheres packed with tropical plants, and tour the Lost Gardens of Heligan (35 minutes) – and for something a little bit different, catch the daily boat service from Fowey to the gardens instead of arriving by car. As well as being the antiques capital of Cornwall, Lostwithiel (10 minutes) has delightful walks around Restormel Castle, and you could easily spend the day at National Trust-owned Lanhydrock House and Garden (20 minutes), which has a majestic house to explore, formal gardens to wander and some lovely woodland strolls – especially pretty in spring when the bluebells are out. And prehistory lovers, Castle Dore (10 minutes) is the remains of a (roughly) 7,000-year-old Iron Age fort with lovely sea views. Kids with you? There’s safe swimming at Readymoney Cove (five minutes), and for the very energetic, Woody’s Bike Park (10 minutes) has challenging tracks for mountain bikers of all levels. Kayaking or canoeing adventurers might like to head for the little village of Golant (15 minutes) on the Fowey river for a paddle upstream.
