  • Quiet woodland camping by a peaceful stream
  • Within half an hour's drive of Cornwall's north and south coasts
  • On the edge of a 600-acre woodland with paths, trails and a café
Located on the edge of Cardinham Woods, a 600-acre woodland in the centre of Cornwall, Langs Mill Camping is a peaceful site within easy reach of the A30 or A38 and 10 minutes' drive from Bodmin Parkway railway station. This 1.5 acre site is situated in a valley clearing, with lots of space to breathe in the forest air and relax as you listen to the peaceful stream flowing by. A short stroll away are Cardinham Woods' paths, café, kids' play area and mountain bike trail – leave the car on site, cross the little bridge (or wade through the stream) and you'll be surrounded by nature in no time. You might prefer to stay on site instead to soak up the peace and quiet, paddle in the stream, build a den or try your hand at stone stacking… Guests at Langs Mill Camping have access to well-maintained toilets and showers, a covered washing-up area and a large firepit where there's seating space for up to roughly 20. After a visit to a bakery, supermarket, outdoor shop or pub? Bodmin (10 minutes away by road) will have what you're looking for.

Shepherd's hut

Liked: I loved the shepherd's hut, was very clean and tidy. Nice toilet and en-suite. Nice gesture with some beer and shortbread. Tea and coffee was also available. Everything you needed was there. Loved the stream and the camp fire area. Didn’t overly use the communal showers or toilets but they were cleaned everyday. The walks were not that far away. We did two , the scenery was amazing.

Disliked: I disliked the drive down, very narrow . The camp was very wet, I wish it was a bit dryer and less slippy. Not the owners fault though, we were well looked after and the owners were very friendly.

From the manager: Thanks for the review Charlotte. It's a shame you had to score us down on things which you say are not our fault, like the lane being too narrow for you and the weather being too wet for you. The point about wifi in the actual hut is fair. Most people are actually quite happy about that, as it gives them an excuse to properly switch off. And there is good wifi everywhere else on site, as you know. We can't win them all, I guess...

Power optional grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Beautiful surroundings, lovely and peaceful. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean. Trevor was welcoming and friendly and was able to tell us about the local walks. Nearby towns were all about a 30 minute drive away. Had Cornish tea in the Woods cafe, was delicious. Will definitely stay again, but for longer next time.

Power optional grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Everything! The campsite is beautiful, quiet and very well thought out. Nobody is crowded or packed in, and the owners Trevor and Clare are extremely thoughtful and friendly. The bathrooms are very nicely done and super clean. We took our long wheel based Fiat Ducato and while you are advised to be aware of any overhanging foliage I had no bother getting ours in there, just take it slowish 🙂 you can step out of your camper or tent and walk directly into Cardinham woods, full of incredible trees and if you want, down to the cafe at the bottom- it’s lovely but a little expensive- no fry ups but good coffee and toasties, salads, cakes etc. On site you can buy wood from the owners to use on the fire pit at a reasonable price too. You feel like you are in this peaceful glade surrounded by all of the trees protecting you. I asked my partner to marry me on the bridge here, and Trevor and Clare were so kind about it and gave us a bottle of Prosecco! It was our first time visiting the site but already I’ve booked again for Sept. Couldn’t recommend it more, the best campsite we’ve ever been to, we are only from Penzance and have tried a few that are around an hour’s drive from us but this is by far the best!

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Well worth the visit very welcoming and show you around. It is small camping ground/ big back garden but don’t let that put you off it is 💯 the perfect getaway for peace but also not far from shops. You get free WiFi and the shower is lovely and hot and spotless clean. You will not be disappointed in this campsite . Will definitely be rebooking in the future and have been recommending to everyone.

Power optional grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Wonderful site right in the middle of the woods, great if you're looking to experience nature in peace and quiet. An easy drive to many popular places and landmarks, and you will find many walks in Cardinham Woods straight out of the campsite. A nice indoor shower and covered sink area too. I was able to make use of a fire pit and purchase firewood too.

Power optional grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Set in Cardinham Woods, on Bodmin Moor, part of a family home, this 4 pitch site, including a well maintained shepherds hut, gave a very quite and relaxed setting including a babbling river to dip your feet into and walks on the doorstep through Cardinham Woods, it was beautiful. Facilities were well maintained. Out and about was between half hour to an hour to most places which was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rural location, thank you to Trevor and Clare.
