  • Luxurious glamping site 15 minutes’ drive from Downs Link trails
  • A 40-minute drive to Chichester; Brighton beach 45 minutes
  • Private hot tubs and firepits on site; pony trekking available
Couples, families and friends, here’s your chance to get right back to nature in considerable style. Deep in the West Sussex countryside, Goweco Glamping is a secluded rural haven with plenty of personality thrown in. Here, the luxury accommodation is all about posh styling and quality fittings. Everything’s provided for a welcoming cuppa, and thoughtful extras include eco-friendly handmade soaps and outdoor hot tubs. The site can provide food hampers packed with local breakfast or barbecue goodies (and even champagne) for an extra charge (you’ll need to book ahead by using the special requests section for these). For outdoor action, jump onto the Downs Link, open to hikers, cyclists and riders. There’s pony trekking on site too, with accompanied rides leading around the Knepp Estate for spectacular views over the South Downs. To up the pace, it’s a short drive to historic cities like Chichester and Arundel, or you can jump in the car and be paddling with the kids on Brighton beach in 45 minutes. Back at base, gather around the firepit to chat about your day’s adventures with fellow guests, or rustle up a barbecue and soak up the chilled vibe in peace – y won’t be disturbed as a quiet policy is in place after dark. A round-up of eco-friendly amenities include composting loos and eco-friendly showers. Recycling facilities are available on site, but please takes as much debris home with you as possible.

Local attractions

Cyclists and walkers can be on the Downs Link trail with less than a 15-minute drive, with the choice to head north towards St. Martha’s Hill in Surrey, or south to the coast at Shoreham-by-Sea. Combine your hike along the South Downs Way (20 minutes' drive) with a history lesson at prehistoric Devil’s Dyke and Chanctonbury Ring hill fort, built more than 2,000 years ago. There’s plenty of sporting action too, with horse racing and vintage cars at Goodwood (40 minutes) or summertime polo games at Cowdray Park (35 minutes). For quieter days out, visit Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens (20 minutes) in spring for vibrant displays of rhododendrons and bluebells, or book wildlife safaris at the Knepp Estate (10 minutes) to (hopefully) spot rare butterflies and birds from hides and viewing platforms. Kids can run off energy at 700-acre Petworth House and Park (30 minutes), where fallow deer roam freely.

Baby Belle Commune 3 bedroom camping pod

Liked: Friendly, helpful management and staff.
The innovative ways that things are being re-used.
The 'back to nature', tranquil feel of the site.
Good facilities.
We did have an issue and to their credit, Goweco dealt with it brilliantly.

Disliked: One of the other groups on the site were noisy on the first night but Goweco dealt with it really professionally.

Not really a dislike, but the site was a little tricky to find in the dark.
