  • Simple, off-grid grass pitches in the South Downs National Park
  • Goodwood House 20 minutes’ drive; Arundel Castle half an hour
  • Walks and bike rides direct from the campsite; pub 30 minutes’ walk
Set on glorious parkland in the middle of the South Downs National Park, Lordington Park really is a very pretty spot indeed. At 15 minutes’ drive from Chichester, the manicured camping field has views over the ‘big house’, and spectacular sunsets and sunrises can be expected on cloudless days. It’s easy to get away from it all at this peaceful rural campsite, with spacious grass pitches big enough for you to have lots of private space. Each pitch has a firepit for barbecues, and there is access to composting toilets, a shower block with warm water, and fresh drinking water. At this juncture, please note there is no electricity on this simple site. Vehicles are not allowed to park on the camping field, but parking is provided a couple of minutes’ walk away. Wheelbarrows are provided to help you get your kit from car boot to tent. Countryside walks and cycle paths lead directly from your pitch. There are several pubs in the local area – the nearest being half an hour's stroll away. The local village of Lordington is five minutes’ walk away.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked A really secluded and curated camping experience. Fire pits available for all. The pitches are limited and nicely spaced out areas so you don't bother your neighbours. The setting is idillic and a great example of scenic Sussex.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely site, simple and relaxed, just a shame my visit was so brief. If you're into simple camping in a field with showers etc this is right up your street. Communication via text with the owners clear and straightforward. No bother, no complications, just easy.
