Liked: The pitches were large and accommodating. The shower shacks were great, very hot and very powerful, there is also a toilet block with a single indoor shower. Great washing up facilities. Peaceful and quiet (other than, see below). We cycled for our 3 day stay but there appears to be lots of walks too. Not far from Guildford, Horsham etc if you wanted a town. Cranleigh was really lovely (pricey but pretty) - Sainsbury's in Cranleigh. Very poor data signal for us throughout in the entire area, but not just the site, but hey, who cares - our phones were nice and rested. We are with Vodafone so don't know what other providers are like. We really liked it here and will be returning

Disliked: Absolutely nothing ..... other than, the twatty group of folk who had hired out the glamping field next door for 2 nights. They must have been hard of hearing !!! as their music was loud until around 4am on their 1st night and their children even louder screaming and shouting until almost midnight! Their 2nd night was a bit quieter, with a much earlier finish, maybe they had worn themselves out parting on the Friday night!!! This is absolutely no reflection on the management of Springbok as it is run by a private company but some would be put off going again if it was their first visit and had to encounter such selfish people

From the manager: Thank you for your 10/10 Review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at the Springbok Campsite and sampled all the delights and scenery that the estate has to offer. The facilities are kept the best we can, so we are very happy that you felt that they were great. We all know people that do this when they go away for a weekend, and unfortunately they forget that there are others around them that have paid for a peaceful stay. We are glad to say that this is not usual and that you were very unlucky to have experienced this. I will pass on all your lovely comments to the Springbok Team!

Liked: Peaceful, lovely woodland walks, close to pretty village for shopping, plenty of walks or cycling or just chilling in the countryside.

Disliked: Hard stands are VERY hard and we struggled to get our rock pegs in. Won't stop us returning though!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your 10/10 Review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at the Springbok Campsite and sampled all the delights on offer! The hard standing was not designed for peg use, so apologies I don't think the people who designed it thought about that at the time - they were thinking of longevity in the main. We would love to welcome you back to us soon! I will pass on all your lovely comments to the Springbok Team!

Liked: Our first time camping so a little unsure of everything but there was no hassle or pressure. Facilities were adequate and within easy distance to all. Everyone we met, which wasn’t many were very friendly. We plan on revisiting again soon 😁

Disliked: The occasional plane but we soon got used to it

Local attractions

If you like a good garden visit on your break, you’ve come to the right spot – it won’t take long at all to reach the likes of the National Trust gardens at 121-acre Winkworth Arboretum (15 minutes’ drive) and Nymans (35 minutes), with woodlands, a lake and natural play areas. The colourful Ramster Gardens (15 minutes) and pretty Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens (35 minutes) are certainly worth adding to the list too. If you’ve brought the kids along, a trip to Fishers Farm Park (15 minutes) may well be on the cards for tractor rides, mini golf, treetop trails, pony rides and lots of animals to meet (plus indoor play areas in case of dodgy weather). You might also like to see the big birds at Surrey Hills Falconry (20 minutes) or hit the beach in Worthing (40 minutes). No kids in your party? A day at Denbies Wine Estate (35 minutes) might appeal instead then – you can sign up for tours and tastings here, and there’s a lovely restaurant too.
