Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Lovely site in great location for exploring Kent. Judy was friendly & helpful and made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble. Toilet facilities spotless. If they are able to add a shower at some point in the future, that would be great. Some road noise, but quiet at night.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Really friendly warm welcome. Jody Charlie and little Jody are great hosts and work hard to make this site a lovely place to visit. Little Jody met me at the reception as I arrived and was polite, professional, friendly and helpful and is a credit to her parents! Great cake and coffees etc in reception and a lovely place to sit and relax. Nice clean modern facilities. The field is open and beautiful and a nice place to plot up with plenty of sunshine. Beautiful bird song in the morning! I’d definitely recommend this site! The wonderful owners are so helpful and welcoming.

Local attractions

You can paddleboard along a tranquil stretch of the River Medway (or have a go at paddleboard yoga) with Paddle Cabin (15 minutes’ drive). If you’d rather be in the water than on it, head to Bewl Water Aqua Park (20 minutes), where you can climb, slide and jump off a number of bouncy inflatable structures. The former home of author Vita Sackville-West, Sissinghurst Castle (20 minutes) is renowned for its English-style garden, with a collection of fragrant roses and an area devoted exclusively to plants blossoming white, grey and silver. After strolling through the greenery, climb up the tower for views of the entire estate. It may look like a medieval structure from the outside, but much of Leeds Castle (20 minutes) was given an Art Deco facelift in the 1930s by its American owner Lady Baillie. After admiring the elegant rooms, take a stroll around the surrounding parkland, which is roamed by peacocks and black swans.
