Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The Musket Brewery on site was the main attraction and the reason we chose the site.

Disliked: For the price the facilities are very poor. Don't get me wrong I have been happy on low grade campsites but I expect this to be reflected in the price. At Loddington there is no hot water anywhere. There are two chemical portaloos with hand sanitiser. The dish washing station is not plumbed into any water although there is a standpipe near by. The shower was an open fronted shed with a door for (partial) privacy. Anyone could easily look over the door whilst you shower. Other than for essential use of the toilets, no one on the campsite used any of the facilities. They were just useless. I think this is a start up campsite and I imagine they will develop the facilities with time but at the moment they are very below par for the charge.

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback. We are just starting out with our campsite offering here at Loddington Farm and your comments are invaluable to help improve things. We are sorry that you felt the facilities were sub par, however we have tried to be completely transparent on our listing and full images of the facilities are available before booking your stay.

Liked: Laid back & calm atmosphere. Very chilled site & the adjacent brewery is a bonus. Good shower, clean toilets, nice friendly vibe. Got dominos delivered to the tent for tea (no vegan option at Brewery)

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The location was amazing. There is a brilliant brewery/ pub. The staff who greeted us were really friendly and helpful. The location is right on. The greensands way which is great for walking or running. We had an amazing time. We camped with our daughter but also my brother's and their families and also friends. It was my wife's 50th and we had an amazing weekend. The farm shop attached to the campsite is brilliant, there is an outdoor swimming reservoir near by a few from our group went swimming. A group of us also went running in the morning through orchards and countryside, a group went to the pub near by for lunch. It is as one of the b at weekends ever. We could easily make it an annual event!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for such positive feedback. It is for events such as yours that we wanted to offer the farm as a place for people to spend the weekend! So much to do and see all within walking distance - we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

It's a good site and I will go back again for some peaceand quiet.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Campsite on a working farm. Cherry and apple orchards to stroll round. Excellent farm shop and coffee shop just down the road. Only 10 tent pitches and 3-4 camper pitchers fairly quiet. Musket Brewery on site and a bar opposite the camp site if refreshment are needed.

Disliked: Not disliked really, just an observation. The toilets are all portaloos. There is only one shower, obviously handmade and very cramped.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback, we too love strolling around the orchards! Cherry season is only a couple of weeks away now! We plan on upgrading the facilities in due course, we weren't sure how popular the site would be and so decided to put in place temporary facilities until we were confident of the sites success!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: This was our first stay in our new van conversion, so we wanted to stay local... prior to our stay we were contaced by a friendly gentleman called Tom, he wanted to introduce him self, which i found this very reasuring, and gave off a very relaxed vibe 🙂 On arriving we could choose where we wanted to pitch, whch we were very relieved about, as having two big reactive doggo's we needed to park up on our own away from others. There was plenty of areas to exercise them, which was a bonus. There was a lovely shower hut, that was very quaint, and clean, a much better experience than a shower block! The farm shop was amazing, with lots of wonderful foods, and logs for the firepit. We didn't go to the brewery, but it seemed very popular with many coming to enjoy the wonderful beers, and listening to the live music, and morris dancers. We felt like we were miles away from home, very relaxed and completely at one with our selfs, even though we were only 10 minutes away, we could have been anywhere! We would definitely stay again and again and again! LOVED IT ♥️

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike about Loddington Farm, which is very rare!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Campsite was clean and the staff were very friendly, Shower is a lot better than it looks! Maybe too hot you just have to get it right. Not a lot to write about was very quiet during our stay. The armoury had an event on the Friday and hosted a birthday party on the Saturday, nice to hear some music. The farm shop was a positive good selection and the bacon was very nice.

Disliked: Toilets didn’t have water to wash hands and instead had hand sanitiser. Man maintaining the grounds came round on a lawnmower but only mowed the edges of the field leaving long patches seemed a bit weird not to mow the full grounds. Washing up area was a sink next to a cold tap, ended up filling a bucket with hot water from the shower to wash the dishes.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi James, Thanks for your positive feedback - we are pleased you enjoyed the shower and that the atmosphere around the farm was to your liking. The bacon is made from the pigs we have on the farm! With regards to your comments about the facilities - we appreciate that they are simple, we want to gauge the success of the site before investing in permanent facilities.
