Power optional grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Very clean site and amenities. Friendly owner.👏 Option for EHC, BBQs, Firepits The Roar from the bigs cats in the evening, is wonderful to hear, you could be on safari 😍 (site is across railway line from The Big Cat Sanctuary) 🦁🐯 Fabulous views of wing walkers and parachuters from local airfield throughout the day. 🪂🪂 The site is between a country road and a railway line. Neither which bothered me, but might be a problem for light sleepers.

Disliked: Nothing.

Power optional grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Very generous marked pitches. Even if busy you will feel like you have plenty of space. The campsite was enclosed so feels very safe for kids to play. The owner Alan is very nice and constantly driving around on his cart so you could always ask questions etc. The roaring of the wild cats from the next door sanctuary is s point of difference and was brilliant sitting next to a fire with the roaring in the back ground.

Disliked: The campsite is sandwiched between a road and railway line. The noise didn't bother either myself or my daughter at all but may possibly bother some people.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked: 1, the people who own go glamp are so friendly and extremely welcoming. 2, there is everything there you can imagine, home from home, right down to hot water bottles should you need one. 3, everything, showers, toilets, washing area and kitchen was absolutely immaculate. 4, the field is right next to the big cat sanctuary, so you get to lay in your tent listening to the lions roar.

Bell tent (six person)

Liked: We had the most incredible glamping experience with Go Glamp! The entire site was immaculately clean and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a perfect getaway. The owner was so attentive, even going the extra mile to bring us firewood and offer games for the children. Though, to be honest, the kids were far more interested in feeding carrots to Tony the pony and the horse, which was a highlight for them! The tipis were beautifully laid out with cozy rugs and tables, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every little detail was thought of, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back for another stay!

Power optional grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: The site is level, has a no noise policy, is not crowded, has clean showers and toilets, and separate washing area for pots, an inside rest area should the weather turn bad, the hosts are caring and do a pizza night on Friday, in the summer weeks. Has a mix of electric and none electric pitches and fire pits are available to hire. Close to railway station so a day out can be arranged via train to London or the south coast.

Local attractions

If you want to get active on your glamping break, the whole family can have a runaround on treetop ropes at Go Ape Bedgebury, or go dinghy sailing and climb the inflatable courses at Bewel Water (both half an hour’s drive). Slow things down with nature rambles around the arboretum at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest (35 minutes). Plenty to do with animals as the focus too: see silverback gorillas, big cats and African elephants in semi-wild enclosures at Howletts Wildlife Park (50 minutes), or take a jeep safari at Port Lympne Safari Park (35 minutes) to spy on rhinos and stately giraffes. If you have younger kids in tow, let them have a cuddle with the friendly inmates at Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats (20 minutes). Canterbury Cathedral (50 minutes) may be calling to history lovers, who can visit the scene of Thomas Beckett’s murder in 1170, before having an amble around the city centre’s half-timbered streets to the porcelain collections in ornate Beaney House of Art and Knowledge. The medieval cathedral and Norman-era castle in Rochester (40 minutes) are both open to tour, or you can do a spot of window shopping on the historic high street.
