  • Bell tent in a private paddock on an Isle of Wight arable farm
  • A 10-minute drive from Compton beach and Freshwater Bay
  • Gas stove and cooking utensils; footpath to the Tennyson Trail on site
There’s a lot of coastal scenery around West Wight Bells, a bell tent in a private paddock on an Isle of Wight working arable farm. This place is just off the Tennyson Trail, a walking trail over the West Wight coast with cliff faces and slopes as scenery along the way Beaches are certainly in no shortage around here, as the site is 10 minutes’ drive away from Freshwater Bay and Compton beach (there’s watersports and surfing down there). But that’s not the end of sea activities, as there are a couple more beaches 15 minutes’ drive away from the site and more bays and seaports further out. To get onto the coastal path and the Tennyson Trail, you’ll want to follow the footpath through the farm for sublime views of the island past fields and woodlands. Afterwards, there are chairs or a double airbed in your bell tent to prop up any tired feet. Those of you with extra heads will have the option to add two single airbeds. As for other facilities, while you won’t have any shower or hot water facilities, there’s access to clean mains water and a basic portable toilet. Dinnertimes are sorted too, as there’s a gas stove inside the bell tent and all the cooking utensils you’ll need to get your chef mode on. All the bits you’ll need are easy to source in Newport 15 minutes’ drive away, where there are shops, as well as restaurants and the likes.
