The area is quiet, tranquil but with plenty to do.
Looking into the tent
The views from the top of the farm are exceptional!

  • Luxury bell tents at a peaceful Hampshire smallholding
  • Watercress Line and Jane Austen's House within a 10-minute drive
  • Proper beds, kitchen, bathroom and barbecue/firepit provided
Now here’s a place with a very appropriate name… Field View Luxury Glamping is a smart place indeed, and thanks to its location in the grounds of a Hampshire smallholding, the ‘field view’ aspect is very nicely covered too. These luxury bell tents are placed in a well-maintained paddock, looking out over the animals grazing in neighbouring fields. The property is a working arable farm with sheep on site, so it’s generally a most peaceful atmosphere all around – and you’ll have a barbecue/firepit, outdoor seating and fairy lights provided to help you make the most of your outdoor space by day and night. Inside each tent, there are beds with proper bed frames and real mattresses made up for your arrival (one kingsize bed plus two singles) and there are also comfy chairs, bedside lights, a small fridge, USB chargers and plug sockets as well as cosy soft furnishings. The tents also have a luxury bathroom with a toilet and shower (and towels supplied too, of course). A bit of outdoor cooking on the barbecue is a fine idea, but you’ll also have access to a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus plates and cutlery (a particularly handy resource for breakfast time and any damp days). Whether you’re cooking in the fresh air or under cover, you can pick up supplies a mile away in Medstead (also the location of the nearest pub) or head to bigger Alton (15 minutes’ drive).

Liked: Just hoke from 2 nights with my 8 and 14 year old. This place is a gem. Every comfort you need. The tent was beautiful, beds and furnishings comfy, snug and inviting. Gas BBQ next to tent under awning and picnic table and 4 camping chairs. The campers kitchen was a dream with everything you need including fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, pots, pans, crokery, cutlery. The toilets and shower were spotless.
Colin was brilliant. Helped us light our fire pit on the first night and showed me how to use the BBQ. Restocked our logs for the second d night, where my son managed to start the fire this time.
Can't fault this place. Peaceful, stress free, perfect glamping location.
Can't wait to visit again.

Liked: Everything was just above and beyond - from the warm welcome we received from Colin & Jo, to the kitchen and bath house (sooooo tidy), and all the little things set up to accommodate a family with young children. Our daughter loved seeing all the animals and was thrilled to collect an egg from the chickens. The area is serene and great for a nice long walk along the footpaths. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the layout of the tents were just perfect. We would highly recommend this glamping site and hope to be back again soon!

Liked: We had the best time. Colin and Jo have thought of everything! The tents really were glorious and so comfortable. We slept brilliantly. The kids could run around safely and freely and Colin helped us with building the fire for toasting marshmallows. There were fresh eggs from the chickens and the facilities were spotless. The shower was hot and powerful. The WiFi was amazing We would love to come back! Thank you 🙏🏻

Local attractions

Hampshire is full of historic sights – and several of them are within easy reach of Field View. You may like to start with a stroll around Old Alresford (10 minutes’ drive), which gets a mention in the Domesday Book, or make a trip to Winchester (20 minutes) to visit the cathedral and see King Arthur’s Round Table in the Great Hall. Rides on the Watercress Line (10 minutes) have a sense of the past too, as you steam through the countryside on heritage trains. The legacy of local girl Jane Austen lives on around here – learn a bit more about the author at Jane Austen’s House, where she spent much of her writing career, and Chawton House, a manor once owned by her brother (both 10 minutes away). Grand outing to go with your glam stay? How about a night at the opera? Shows run at The Grange at Northington (15 minutes) through June and early July, with picnics in the interval. Tipple instead? Both Hattingley Valley (five minutes) and Raimes English Sparkling (15 minutes) run vineyard tours and tastings.
