Liked: Flat pitches, plenty of clean showers and toilets, a very warm welcome. The shop had essentials and there was a pool and a bar on site. We were well informed about everything the site had to offer.

Disliked: It couldn't be helped but the main road was close, in a tent you could hear traffic. It wasn't enough to bother us though, we were so tired we fell asleep immediately regardless!

Liked: Thank you for a lovely stay! Some of the nicest facilities we have seen at campsites, clean warm toilets with not a bug in sight! And always some lovely music playing both there and in the washing up area! Also had a great time in the pool and LOVE that it can be made into an outdoor pool for when the sun is out in force 😄 The staff were really friendly and so helpful and made us laugh a lot. I would definitely return!

Disliked: The rain! But that can't really be helped. 😂

Liked: The friendly welcome, staff helpful, happy and chatty! It was extremely wet weather and they were checking all the pitches to make sure everyone had the driest possible in appalling weather. Shower blocks and toilets were exceptionally clean. Swimming pool clean and warm. They recommended the local pub to us for lunch which was very good too! We had a great time in the clubhouse both evenings we were there. Drinks priced reasonably, same staff were mixing with all the guests and making everyone feel welcome. Campsite and facility’s faultless

Disliked: Absolutely nothing to dislike!

Liked: This is quite hard to answer but on first arrival seemed very friendly and welcoming.

Disliked: There is no games room as advertised The bathrooms were a mess, shower was shockingly bad I left feeling dirtier than I went in. The coolers went down so couldn't even get a cold Cider without ice. Pool is only open 9am-5pm so not really an option when your there for a weekend. The food on the van is stupidly expensive and you can't even get a basic coffee in the morning. The play park aimed more a younger children. Overall I am really disappointed in this site They also might want to let people know your likely to be kept awake all night by the road works. I had a 12year old and a 10year old both who were really looking forward to this trip and it's safe to say I wasted my money

Liked: NOTHING

Disliked: Vandalised Games room - closed Showers - disgusting Children had blocked the toilets with toilet rolls, therefore had to supply your own Seemed no sanitation for washing hands, toilets needed good clean Pitch marked by concrete blocks led down so numbers facing skywards Unruly children Dog pooh bin in exercise pen full up Totally unacceptable stink of drugs Far too many resident caravans in disrepair and dogs chained up Clubhouse only open Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun Not a family run business as it would appear its being run by Administrators?? Surrounded by scrap yards and broken up caravans

Liked: The two maintenance men trying to keep the site clean. Being able to get off site was an absolute bonus, Moors Valley and Southbourne beach were great

Disliked: We had high expectations for this site after seeing the pictures and reviews online, sadly on arrival we were very disappointed. I was greeted by the receptionist by “sign written truck” to be told that we were not allowed to park onsite with sign writing (very minimal may I add) as this causes unwanted attention from travellers, the nearest car park being a 10 minute walk away along a duel carriage way stretch in a pub car park. Not the friendliest of welcomes! Pitches seem very close together, the site doesn’t seem to be very maintained at all. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, they were difficult to flush so many people just didn’t bother, urine all over the floor and to top it off the site did not allow toilet rolls in the toilets due to vandalism so you had to remember to take in your own every time you needed the loo. The showers were disgusting and smelt of urine, I felt sorry for the man who kept trying to tidy the bathrooms it just seemed people really didn’t care on the site and would leave them disgusting. The “park” was literally a tiny old metal climbing frame in a small area which wasn’t maintained at all- with half a fence around it- don’t know where the other half went! The pool was nice however very tired looking. To be quite frank the site seemed to have a lot of travellers staying there, the kids really didn’t care and would just enter other peoples tents. We were even warned by other guests to “lock up our valuables” when a certain family arrived. I would definitely not come back to this site again, by far the worst camp site I have ever stayed at. We even asked at other local campsites if they had space so that we could move but unfortunately other places were booked. In the end we left our holiday early which was a huge shame. The pictures advertised on pitch up are clearly from many many years ago, the site looks absolutely nothing like these now. The only positive I would give is to a couple of the maintenance guys who seemed to work hard trying to clean the bathrooms however people just wrecked them as soon as they had been cleaned. We didn’t use the entertainment facility, it was closed monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to not having enough staff, there was a small room with some games machines but this got vandalised during our stay. The people camping in front of us pretty much sat and smoked weed for 3 days straight, no one adhered to the quiet by 10:30pm rule either which made it difficult with young kids. I would never normally leave a bad review but I really do feel like this site needs massive improvement and money spent on it to get it back up to standard, everyone I spoke to on the campsite also had exactly the same opinions and was disgusted at the cleanliness of this site. Definitely one to avoid!

Liked: Wasn’t much overly to like in my opinion.

Disliked: The lay for the tents isn’t great, my family and I were sweaters which made sitting together quite awkward. Wasn’t much activity wise and considering its peak time the evening entertainment was extremely limited. We won’t be returning

Liked: The site was fine the pool was very good pity they were running on a skeleton staff who were lovely people but overstretched would still go back again in the future

Disliked: To many live on site families who ignored the site rules especially about dog mess and not even walking their dogs in the dog field and also the youngsters with no adult supervision was totally wrong

Local attractions

You needn’t stray far from base for fresh air activities: it’s a minute’s walk to East Moors Fishing Lake for days in quiet contemplation of the waters, and there’s further fishing five minutes’ drive away at Moors Valley Country Park, along with miniature steam trains, adventure play trails and golf. If it’s rides and slides you’re after, Adventure Wonderland is 10 minutes away, with rollercoasters and log flumes, safari jeeps and battle boats; for fans of a certain cheeky cartoon porker, Peppa Pig World has rides and an indoor playground (20 minutes). Wanting watery antics? Also 20 minutes away, Splashdown Waterpark has all the required river rides and waterfalls, or if you prefer your waves at a distance, head into Poole (25 minutes) for harbour cruises and ferry rides to Brownsea island. Beach lazing, windsurfing and fossil hunting are handily close by at Bournemouth (20 minutes) and along the Purbeck Heritage Coast around Studland (50 minutes). The surrounding Studland and Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve makes for fine hikes, especially when the landscape turns into vivid yellows and purples in summer. Surrounded by the New Forest, Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst (20 minutes and half an hour) are popular hubs for bike hire and numerous cycling routes. There’s a six-mile family-friendly circuit close by around Burley (15 minutes), or for those with bigger ambitions and calf muscles, a 15-mile loop from Brockenhurst.
