What customers say

A charming, well-maintained campground with a prime spot on the creek, a short stroll to the beach. Staff are highly praised for friendliness. Facilities are clean but a bit dated. The cafe is a hit, and water sports are a big draw.

Liked Perfect location next lovely walk around the lake and coffee & cake a Birthday treat for my husband which was made special by the lovely young man in the Gallon cafe.

Disliked A shame about the walk way to the beach

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Good site nice position with access for sheltered paddle boarding and cycling Nice Staff good bar / cafe Very good visiting catering (Pizza van Hog roast and chip van) only downside is the male toilet and shower facilities which are old dated and scruffy not enough toilets for the size of site always queuing in the morning
Even on the last day when the site wasn’t crowded The showers were generally good but the floor needs a bit of a good clean up to remove older stains and the roof needs something done to remove the black mould! My wife tells me that the ladies were much better

Local attractions

When you fancy a break from all the water activities, there are plenty of other ways to spend a day, including walks or bike rides along pretty countryside trails. The Hayling Billy Trail is one of the most popular of these, running for the full length of the island’s west coast along the route of the old ‘Hayling Billy’ train line. Elsewhere on the island, you might like to hit the rides of Funland amusement park (a half-hour walk away) or take a more sedate trip on the Hayling Seaside Railway, a light railway that runs along the seafront. Leaving the island behind, it’s also easy to do day trips to Portsmouth (20 minutes’ drive) or Chichester (25 minutes), explore woodland trails in the New Forest National Park (45 minutes) or take hikes in the South Downs National Park (half an hour).
