  • A 15-minute drive from the New Forest, half an hour from Bournemouth
  • Firepits for hire; pizzas on Saturday and a bar on weekends
Heaps of space and starry skies by night – there’s much to celebrate at Jubilee Camping, in the village of Damerham on the border of Dorset and Hampshire. You may like to raise a toast in honour of the site’s location, within easy reach of the New Forest National Park, the old city of Salisbury and the beaches around Bournemouth. Or perhaps you’d prefer to pay homage to the relaxed vibe, which welcomes kids and dogs and encourages barbecues and campfires (firepits are available to hire, and you can stock up on firewood to feed the flames). Breakfast rolls are up for grabs on Saturday and Sunday mornings (and Monday bank holidays). Plus, on Friday and Saturday evenings (plus Sundays if it's a bank holiday weekend), the site's Shepherd's Hut Bar is open for local ales and ciders and drinks like Prosecco or a gin and tonic. On Saturday evenings, the team fires up the woodfired pizza oven to prepare fresh pizza with a variety of toppings. For other meals, shops, takeaways and restaurants are three miles away in Cranborne or Fordingbridge, and a fab local pub is 10 minutes’ walk away (serving up treats from craft beers to cream teas). In keeping with the traditional setup, there’s not a huge raft of facilities here, but the basics are well tended – toilets, hot showers, water points and plenty of space for parking. As Jubilee Camping is on a real working farm, guests can also join Dave on tractor and trailer rides or help to feed the calves.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Jubilee camping was amazing. Such a lovely place on a working farm where dave the farmer will take you on tractor and trailer rides to see and feed the cows and sheep. The rest of the jubilee term were very friendly and accommodating with nice clean facilities. Very laid back and you can choose where you pitch. Bonus small of lead dog walking field next to the piglets! Will definitely be back.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: That they had a bar, cafe for food and that you could purchase fire pits and fire wood for the evening. They had all bases covered. We had a dog with us and there was plenty of areas to walk him. It was also great being on a farm- lots of animals, tractor rides and space Food was good - pizzas, breakfast rolls and jacket potatoes. Drink was also good and locally sourced Staff were friendly

Disliked: Wash and shower facilities were very basic and quite small for the number of people camping during the bank holiday so it was very busy. Showers were freezing at 7 in the morning. Bin storage was overloaded by the end of the weekend due to the volume of people camping

Liked: Friendly staff, food options and bar that was stocked full of local beer. And if that's not enough - only a 10 min walk to the local village pub

Disliked: When I was staying there was no warm water in the showers

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The fact there was a place to get food and drinks on site Semi clean facilities Easy to get to fields Staff all very kind and polite Fire pits provided and brought round Cash and card accepted Allowed dogs

Disliked: Showers were FREEZING. Beyond tolerable - advertised with facilities however this was a huge downfall. Especially when you smell of fire and camp for more than 2 nights you need a freshen up. Might have well booked for half the price and no facilities as too cold to use. Children everywhere and uncontrolled we had 2 kids coming into our tent on two occasions uninvited - as a couple really didn’t appreciate this. Think rules with parents should be tighter. Swing in the woods where kids scream right up untill 10pm. Kids running into our tent and took pegs out the ropes. Appreciate its summer holidays but should be fun for everyone. No much to do within walking distance One pub and no shop Forest 40 mins drive

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We had a really lovely stay. It’s a really chilled out place with basic but adequate facilities. It’s got a great organic countryside vibe. The family who run site are also the farmers on the land. There are piglets, calves, horses and sheep on the farm. Our 2 year old really enjoyed feeding a calf and having a tractor ride across the fields, in fact we did too! There is also a great al fresco bar area which had a great chilled out flavour. It’s not deluxe by any means but we loved it and will definitely return.
