Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: The view is nice.
Disliked: No directions were provided and the signposts are completely misleading if you are on the grass pitch. If you are camping on the grass pitch you actually have to stop at the sign that says "Morelands corpse camping keep going!" and let yourself through some big wooden black gates signed "Beware of the dogs" then cross a yard (totally unsigned) and up a track. It took us an hour of wondering around and asking people to find the place and no-one from the campsite answered their phone. All the other campers we spoke to had had the same problem, and one family had given up trying to find it and just pitched by the confusing "Moreland corpse camping, you're here!" sign. Hint if you're on the grass pitch and you see this sign you are in totally the wrong place! I've attached some photos to this review to hopefully help others in the same situation find where they're supposed to go. Also the grass pitch only has a single porta loo in the corner and there were soggy toilet rolls in there, one of which had mildew on it, so had clearly been wet for a while. A fair amount of the field is slopped also.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Fire pits, Honesty shop, Goats in next field.
Disliked: Maybe an idea to collect the grass when cutting. Shepherd huts left vacant and listed unavailable online. Campsite on hill so limited decent pitches for tents.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked: The site is beautiful, so quiet and secluded and surrounded by wildlife. Facilities were very good, our girls particularly enjoyed the arts and crafts provided and meeting the horses nearby. Owner was very present, friendly and helpful. Loved being able to camp under the trees in the woods, felt like a real adventure! We will definitely be back and have reccomended you to our friends.
Disliked: Unfortunately there was a group of young lads pitched next to us who played loud music for most of the afternoon and evening. We thought groups of this nature were not permitted at the site.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked: My daughter (aged 10) and I, really enjoyed the layout of the camp. Pitches were good distances apart and despite all woodland pitches taken, all were respectful throughout the night. Facilities were brilliant. In working order and clean. The honesty shop was very helpful, too. Will definitely frequent this site.
Disliked: Signage could be better en route and had no clue what to do on arrival but people were helpful. Later saw someone in charge so no real issues.

Bell tent
Liked: I almost don’t want to say how lovely it was because I want to go back and have it to myself. We stayed in the bell tent and the camp beds made it really comfy. There was a fire pit just for us. Tea and coffee stuff to help yourself to if you forget to bring them. Pots and pans etc. Really well thought out. I’d class it as “not so wild” camping.
Disliked: We were near the toilet so could hear the door banging/squeaking shut lots in the run up to bedtime. The sink could have done with a drain.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked: We liked the remoteness of the woodland. The communal sitting room was quite well equipped, but could do with a couple sofa even recycled ones. Overall 9/10. Loos need larger bins for toilet rolls. Very hospitable, helpful and friendly leaseholder. Will definitely return.
