Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Beautiful spot, lovely owners, very helpful. Fantastic toilets and bathroom with massive walk in shower. It was very quiet when we were there so no wait for the loo's.
Good location, John recommended a lovely walk to Bodiam and the Castle Inn pub.

Disliked It is near a fairly busy road, you dont see it but you can hear it.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Set surrounded with woodland with plenty of space allocated to each plot, making the experience much more harmonious and peaceful. I did go off-peak, and had the field to myself for a few night of my stay.
The farmer was very obliging and friendly and his dog was also friendly, and even played fetch on one occasion.
The facility's are new with good quality appliances with more of a hotel feel.

Disliked Ideally needs pegs or hooks in toilets to hang jackets etc.

Liked Really nice, quiet, well maintained farm site. Probably the best washroom facilities I’ve ever seen on a campsite. I’ll definitely be back!

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked We had a relaxing one night stay at Eyelid Farm over the weekend.
We were met by a welcoming member of staff who gave us information of the local area when we arrived.
There was plenty of field space, and flat areas at the top and bottom of the field for our motorhome. Our children enjoyed riding their bikes around the field.
Camp fires were allowed and there was wood to purchase and fire pits to hire, if needed.
Toilet and shower facilities were very modern and kept clean and there were also good washing up facilities.
We enjoyed out stay and would be happy to return 😀

Disliked There was nothing we disliked with our stay!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Massive field where you can camp so far away from others that you can't hear them at all. You can buy firewood and rent fire pits. Facilities were tip top! Really nice showers and toilets. Only one shower which we thought would be an issue but the owner sets the maximum pitch for the site very low for the space so we never had to queue for the shower. Owner was friendly and told us about all the lovely walks and pubs near by which we visited which were all great!

Local attractions

There are some smashing walks (with a smattering of history thrown in) close to base camp. Download a self-guided tour of the grounds of moated, National Trust-owned Bodiam Castle (five minutes’ drive), while Scotney Castle (30 minutes, also National Trust) offers looped walks through woodland as well as romantic, lakeside ruins. To nose around glorious gardens, head for Great Dixter House and Gardens (15 minutes) or Sissinghurst Castle Gardens (25 minutes). After all that high-brow stuff, it’s time for the kids to have some fun. Treat them to a ride on a steam train along the Kent and East Sussex Railway (25 minutes), or let them loose on the ziplines and rope courses at Go Ape Bedgebury (20 minutes). If splashing around in the waves is more your style, pack up the car and head for the coast for old-fashioned family fun on the beach. Camber Sands (35 minutes) has got plenty of dunes for the kids to run around on, and lots of chances to make towering sandcastles – it’s also a top-notch spot for windsurfing.
