Liked: Tim the owner was lovely. Went out of his way to repeatedly come by the site and check everything was okay. He provided toys for children in a bucket and we enjoyed a few chats with him. Constantly cleaned the toilets and made sure they were stocked with products. I even had a short chat over text before arriving with him making sure that we knew where to go and he met us shortly after arrival. There was a minor issue that we personally didn't even notice, a group of people were making noise past the curfew and this was dealt with by Tim quickly. They were immediately asked to leave the site after being disrespectful. I don't think there's anything more you could ask for from a site owner, people are people but we were really happy with the experience. The site is a field with a sink and clean water and some portaloos. Camping with a 4 year old was easy and we're looking forward to doing it again. There are 3 pubs within walking distance and we found the Farmer Arms to be a really nice place with food and drinks and a good atmosphere. It's a short drive to Coniston water and even though it was Bank Holiday we found free parking in a bay by the shores on a few occasions. Great experience and the first time camping with my young daughter. If you're looking for a campsite with simple facilities to explore the area then I'd absolutely recommend the site.

Liked: Campsite was great plenty of space with the site having 2 fields, toilets on site and washing up facilities. Site also had a games bucket which was a nice addition, Tim the runner of the site couldn’t of been more help full cam round at least twice a day to make sure very thing was okay and offering fire wood, location was perfect with a pub within walking distance and Coniston water only a 10-15 minute drive. We could recommend this campsite enough, especially for single sex groups.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all. If you wanted to be ridiculously picky the one thing was that the grass wasn’t cut but let’s be honest that doesn’t matter.
