Chapel Stile is a quiet, back to basics campsite in the Lake District National Park. Located at the gateway to the spectacular Langdale Valley and with views over some of the Lakes' most impressive mountains, this simple spot is also within half a mile of handy village amenities including local pubs, a café and an independent grocery shop. The site's facilities are basic: fresh water is on tap, but in terms of toilets there are just portable toilets, and no showers are available. Access by car to the site is simple, and there's also a bus stop a couple of minutes' walk from base. That said, all of the surrounding area's footpaths may well encourage you to leave the car at home and set out instead on trails like the Grasmere Waterfall Walkways. Once that’s ticked off, you could also venture out on foot to Langdale Pikes, Stickle Tarn, Little Langdale and Great Langdale. There are some truly impressive views both on and off site here. Please help keep it this way by taking all your litter home with you.
