Great spot, basic facilities, quiet, stunning scenery, great base
Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Excellent location, although the access road was a challenge (in a good way!) for a fully loaded Royal Enfield Interceptor with road tyres.
Very quiet overnight, even with quite a large group of teenagers at the far end of the field. It was nice to see they could respect the quiet times so fair play, whoever they were.
Excellent scenery, with a nice walk along the banks of the river.
Very clean facilities.
Excellent base for exploring the Lake District and it's many passes on my motorbike.
Firepits are allowed, which is nice. Pitchup has no option to order logs though.
Easy check-in over the phone.
Disliked Small number of toilets and showers for what could be a large number of people camping. I was lucky that it was very quiet on my first day/night but had to queue to use the shower this morning due to the large group of teenagers.
Wasn't really sure where i could and couldn't go, so stuck to the signposted footpath and the camping field. A small map or guide would have been handy.
Lacked the personal touch of a reception area, but not really needed.
