Liked: Farm life and great views. The facilities were also good.
Disliked: Muddy entrance to the campsite and the van nearly got stuck on the grass but luckily there were some hard standing pitches available for the next night

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Working farm setting, overlooking fields with sheep and horses. Toilets and shower were decent. The added benefit of the camp fires were fabulous but bring cash for the fire wood!
Disliked: Farm dogs were free to roam anywhere (quite rightly so, considering it is their home!) but this did mean we narrowly avoided stepping in an overnight deposit one of them had made just outside our van. They're very friendly, but do want to also be involved in your business so our own dogs (which we paid the campsite to take with us) were on edge most of the time we spent there.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Great location, the tent pitches are on a couple of different levels which makes this quite unique and provides some excellent views across the valley. Great reception on arrival, very friendly and helpful. Note, this is a working farm which is part of its charm. I would very much recommend this as an Adults only, quiet site, its perfect for quiet unfussy stays. Broughton in Furness is a short 30 mins walk away for Beer garden pub lunch and stocking up.
Disliked: Just one area to be prepared for - our pitch area contained a lot of dog muck (not sheep or cow - but dog). When pitching the tent we had to watch where we were stepping and pick this up / remove it. In the end I didn't put full ground sheets down as I didn't fancy having to hose this down at home.

From the manager: Mortified! Huge apologies. Will keep an extra watchful eye out in future and remove. Louise
