Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite (super)

Liked: Big pitch, just across from the showers/toilets, which was great considering the torrential rain! Quite a small toilet/ shower block considering the size of the site, but all clean and nicely decorated. Our 2nd stay, really enjoyed it, very friendly greeting on arrival. Well set out pitches, mainly level, nicely landscaped grounds. Friendly staff in The Staggerinn, bingo was on Saturday, good selection of drinks, bar is child and dog friendly. Site is about a half hour walk along the canal (look out for bats, swans and lots and lots of frogs on the canal bank of an evening)to Audlem - 3 pubs, tapas bar, small co,-op. We'll definitely be going back.

Disliked: Just the great British weather! Thunder and lightning went on for ages, rain lashed down all night and most of the day!

Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: A great site. Very friendly, helpful and clean. Lots of amenities - burger van, bar/restaurant, fishing, lovely walks. The village of Audlem is 1.8 mikes away and it’s a nice walk along the canal to reach it. TBD bar on the adjoining site is equally friendly and operates bingo, karaoke and live acts as well as food. A great great site.

Disliked: Being ultra picky here but would like a Wi-Fi option (even with a premium pay for service) and the showers only stay on for a couple of seconds each time.

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite (super)

Liked: Location, close to the canal and marina, lovely walk into Audlem. Lots to do around the area.

Disliked: Tents being placed directly infront blocking any view of anything and behind touring caravans, less then 6m distance. Had to keep our bathroom blind constantly shut throughout the trip, as the tent behind was that close they could see into the van. Not enough facilities for the amount of visitors on site, 1 x working toilet for the men's after one had a toilet seat ripped off during the stay and just 2 x showers. Toilets were however clean throughout the stay.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Stunning campsite with excellent facilities and lots to see and do! They have a super clean bathroom facility on site with beautifully clean toilets and showers which are well maintained and looked after. There is a food van which sells burgers/chips/hotdogs and crepes! Along with bacon/sausage buttys! Which is perfect for those nights/mornings when you don’t feel like cooking or the kids fancy a treat! The prices weren’t too bad either! The reception area has a little shop, nothing fancy, but they have ice creams and cold drinks and little bits and bobs/essentials which you may have forgotten or need. There is a mix of electric and non electric hook ups with plenty of space between pitches and there is 2/3 fields available with plenty of room to kick a ball around/play some outdoor games! The staff who run it are super friendly and love seeing everyone so happy, especially the kids, my daughter was very fond of Neil and loved his Nutella crepes! They work amazingly hard to keep the facilities and the campsite clean and we will absolutely be returning soon!

Disliked: The only tiny, but very minor thing I would say I disliked, is the showers not running constantly when you’re in them, you have to keep pressing the button every 30 seconds or so which is a bit annoying but for a quick wash they do the job so like I say, nothing major!

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The toilet/shower/washing up facilities on site are all modern and exceptionally clean. They look like they are cleaned constantly. This is by far the best campsite we have stayed at due to the cleanliness of the facilities and also the other facilities such as onsite shop, food van, cafe/bar, plus the 3 great fishing lakes. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us and even lent my son a weighing sling for 2 days as he’d forgotten his. The owners were very friendly. The well-maintained site was busy but not noisy or overcrowded and the overall setting of the site was beautiful, quiet and relaxing.

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

The canal and a public footpath alongside are steps from the site. From Nantwich, stroll the couple of miles along the level canal towpath for views over town and the Cheshire countryside, passing the Chester Road viaduct and many moored and cruising narrowboats (to get truly envious, lurk around the marina at Basin End). A couple of pubs at Audlem overlook the canal if/when you require a pitstop. To dive into all things canal and have a natter on the same with knowledgeable types, drop into the Nantwich Canal Centre within 10 minutes' drive. You could also have mightily peaceful potters around the town's shops and wine bars, or the market that runs most days. The leisure centre has an outdoor saltwater pool for dips. Another market town is at Whitchurch, 20 minutes' drive away and two miles from the Welsh border. It's well worth a wander to see its 100+ listed buildings, and to bag foodie supplies from the speciality shops in town: cheese and pork pies are the top picks to hunt down here. From Whitchurch, you can take the train to Manchester, reachable in an hour to the north, or Shrewsbury, half an hour south.
