Microlodge

Liked: Couldn’t fault it at all. I’ve stayed in hotel rooms for three times the price that weren’t as nice as the cabins. Facilities were clean and plentiful. Showers were hot! Lots of other things like fire pits, microwave, fridge you can make use of as well. Communication was great and would stay here again without hesitation. Friendly horse and pigs nearby.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Very nice tidy campsite with well kept facilities, the toilets were very clean, good sink for washing up with hot water straight away. We also liked the chimenea which kept the night going longer. It was a nice quiet stay, thank you.

Disliked: Nothing really to dislike. The road was slightly noisy but I didn't mind that.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Great easy access to the site with good communication from the owners. Toilets and showers clean and well presented, water was hot. covered area in the back of the barn for those wet days (we didn't have any) Close to station for trains and bus stops at the end of the driveway.

Disliked: Grey waste disposal and Elsan point would have been a bonus but it was not an essential for us

Local attractions

Once you’ve thoroughly explored the Aire Valley, there’s plenty more for walkers and cyclists to see over in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (20 minutes’ drive), or with a meander along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (five minutes). Or, if you’d like your outdoor time to be filled in a different way, perhaps try the Silsden Golf Driving Range (two minutes). Places for a gentle stroll are plentiful, too – maybe you’d like to wander the grounds of Cliffe Castle Museum and Park (10 minutes) and the gorgeous Bolton Abbey estate (20 minutes) or take a tour through the well-preserved medieval rooms of Skipton Castle (15 minutes). The Italianate architecture of ‘model village’ Saltaire (15 minutes) makes this another lovely place for a day out. For other options, take a trip to Ilkley (15 minutes) to swim in the river and try out its foodie shops, learn about one of the nation’s favourite literary families at Brontë Parsonage Museum (20 minutes) or visit the Royal Pump Museum and have tea at Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate (40 minutes).
