Sleep Under Canvas – a simple enough idea, but one that's taken to a new level by this pop-up site in the West Yorkshire countryside. As well as sleeping under canvas, here you can eat and drink under it at an on-site tipi bar and restaurant before heading out for country walks around stunning Almscliffe Crag. Set in the Lower Wharfe Valley and 15 minutes' drive from Harrogate or Otley, Sleep Under Canvas is well-placed to explore many of the best bits of Yorkshire: Leeds is half an hour away by road, while other top spots like Skipton (30 minutes), Grassington (35 minutes) and York (40 minutes) are within easy reach as well. Facilities here include well-maintained toilets and showers, plus a giant tipi dining space and bar where you can go for breakfast or other meals and drinks throughout the day. In addition, a pub is on hand a mile away in the village of North Rigton if you fancy a traditionally-pulled pint as well. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Sleep Under Canvas, but please make sure to keep them on leads and under control at all times. Coming without a car, or on the look-out for trips where you won't have to spend all day driving? Weeton railway station is two and a half miles from base.
