  • Sociable park in a valley next to the River Wharfe
  • A 15-minute drive to Wetherby, 20 to Harrogate and 30 to Leeds
  • Dayroom with a reading lounge and snooker table; pub
If your travels usually revolve around country walks from a well-equipped, green base, you'll likely do well at Maustin Park in West Yorkshire’s Lower Wharfe Valley. At this large, rural park in Yorkshire, head for a wander beside the river Wharfe (minutes away on foot), where birds can often be spotted in the trees and fishing can be done on the water. Rare red kites are often seen around the region. And if you're more of a browser than a birdwatcher or angler, Maustin Park is in the middle of the Yorkshire triangle of Harrogate, Leeds and York (20, 30 minutes and 45 minutes’ drive away respectively). Wetherby’s 15 minutes away and holds a town market every Thursday. Back at base, unwind in the reading lounge, have a snooker match in the dayroom or host a game on the bowling green. The on-site Stables Bar is open from Wednesday through to Sunday, with a great selection of local ales, wines and flavoured gins. Handy amenities on site include toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a laundry room, plus waste disposal and water taps.

What customers say

Maustin Park is a clean, quiet spot with helpful staff and great value serviced pitches/pods. Enjoy the bar & restaurant's good food and vibe. Great base for exploring, though access roads can be narrow & Wi-Fi spotty.

Liked Liked everything! Nicely laid out site, which had everything!
Everything was very clean and well kept throughout the whole stay!
Staff were amazing and super friendly, special mention to the Caretaker who was an absolute legend!
Would definitely come back!

Disliked The only thing we have to mention is the fact that they need to note down who stays on each numbered pitch.
We were there for 4 days and after 2 days of being on the same pitch we left for the day only to find someone else fully set up on our pitch when we returned. A little annoying but would not stop us from returning!

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked There were only a handful of touring pitches so it was very pleasant and quiet, with plenty of clean facilities that were just a few metres away from our pitch We only stayed for one night but found it was very pleasant, especially with the scenic walk along the river with our dog. thank you!

Local attractions

Once you’ve ticked off trips to the independent shops of Harrogate, the Jorvik Viking Centre in York and the Royal Armouries houses in Leeds, it’s easy to get deep into the countryside as it's about a 30-minute drive to the Yorkshire Dales National Park in one direction and 50 to the North York Moors National Park in another. To blend a bit of history into days out in scenic surrounds, well-preserved old manors with pristine gardens are all around, including Harewood House (10 minutes’ drive) and Ripley Castle (30 minutes). Soap opera fan? A visit to Harewood’s estate is also your chance to tour the studios and setting of Emmerdale (just make sure to book in advance). If you're in the company of nippers, they may instead prefer to be taken to the treetop trails, enchanted forest and adventure playgrounds at Stockeld Park (10 minutes).
