1 bedroom camping pod

Liked We loved everything about our stay here (except the torrential rain!). The pods are much roomier than they look on the photos, even with all 4 of us inside we had space to do our own activities. The kitchen has everything you need, and the ensuite was clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The site itself is clean and well maintained, the views are absolutely stunning and the lakes were perfect for paddleboarding. The staff were on hand and checked in when we arrived to make sure everything was ok. We will definitely be back, hopefully for a drier visit so we can make the most of the outside space!

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked Fantastic views. A beautiful walk directly from the site where we could let our dogs sniff and explore off lead. The site is a perfect size and we loved wandering about to excercise the dogs on lead. The site was always very clean and tidy. The owner was welcoming. We were really pleased to beale to use our fire pit and gazebo. This place ticks all our boxes.

Disliked Leaving.

Liked Stunning scenary and lovely to have a dip in the pool. The pod was very comfortable. Everything was left for us to have a campfire too. Fantastic shower, powerful and warm!

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked This is a great campsite with fantastic views and brilliant facilities. Everything was thought of that a camper might need, even a washing line! You could even swim in the lakes, at your own risk, which was wonderful.

Local attractions

Take a ride on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. Bolton Abbey station (10 minutes’ drive) is a recreated 1800s building with a vintage café where you can sample delicious homemade cakes. There is a lively calendar of events at the railway, including afternoon teas, murder mysteries and steam-driving experiences. An Augustinian priory established in the 12th century, Bolton Abbey (15 minutes) now sits in ruins on the River Wharfe, where a series of stepping stones allow you to cross the way workers at the priory used to cross. There is also a bridge for when it’s deemed unsafe to use the stones. The spa town of Ilkley (15 minutes) is overlooked by a vast area of wild moorland, just to the south, which includes features like the Cow and Calf Rocks and the Twelve Apostles Stone Circle. In town, there’s a playground in the Riverside Gardens and a child-friendly nature trail through the Darwin Gardens.
