A lovely site, let down badly by very poor WC/shower facilities.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked: Location. Easy access from A1 (but could barely hear it). Very convenient for exploring the many places of interest this part of Yorkshire offers. Level, fully serviced pitch. Water hose provided. Also pipework for caravan grey waste. Only 10 AMP electric which caused no problems at all. Pleasant quiet site. Felt secure with a padlocked gate. Sarah, the owner was very pleasant and accommodating. She responded immediately to the notification that lights were not working in either of the gents WC’s and the shower head was broken in one of the two shower cubicles.
Disliked: The WC’s 2 x male and 2 x female are in tired, grubby, cold portacabins. Only cold water to washbasins (both of which leaked over the floor in the female ones). No facility for hand drying. Two unisex showers housed in cold, tired and grubby portacabins (vaguely clean on the surface but appeared not to have had a deep clean for a very long time). A mop and bucket provided for each cubicle with dirty water in them. On the upside hot water was plentiful. We have travelled extensively throughout the entire UK and have visited numerous campsites. Sadly of sites offering WC / shower facilities, Venus are in the bottom 10% whilst pitch prices are in the top 10% An intense ‘deep clean’ would improve the situation significantly..

Powered grass campsite
Liked: Open space with plenty of room. Picnic table at each plot was an added bonus. Nice and peaceful with the added bonus of no noisey children. Perfect for a relaxing few days. Even the weather didn't really dampen the experience. Very welcoming hostess
Disliked: Nit picking really but maybe the toilets and showers could do with an upgrade. But it is nitpicking as they were clean with plenty of hot water, just portocabins which lack the certain something.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked: Great campsite. Friendly owners who went out of their way to help us out with borrowing a windblocker. Loved the pitch we had with some privacy from wild plants / flowers. Loved the fascilities, warm showers, washing up area, clean toilets and even a fridge freezer to store food. One of the best campy sites I’ve used.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: Host Srah was very friendly and helpful. Pitch size was large, level and well spaced away from other pitches. Fully serviced pitch.
Disliked: Only 2 showers between a large amount of pitches. Not an issue when we needed to use them though. Shower tray was small and slippery with no grab rails and nowhere clean to step out onto. Toilets had only cold water to wash hands and no dryers or paper towels.
