What customers say

This spacious, well-kept campsite boasts stunning sea views & direct beach access. Guests love the spotless facilities, friendly staff, and relaxed vibe. Flat pitches & proximity to town are a plus. Occasional wind & a wish for more showers at peak times were noted.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked I recently stayed at a small, quiet campsite right on the coastal seafront and had such a lovely experience. The location was perfect – peaceful, with beautiful sea views and just the right atmosphere for unwinding. It felt tucked away, yet close enough to enjoy walks along the beach and take in the fresh sea air.

The site itself was clean, well kept, and not overcrowded, which made it even more relaxing. Facilities were great and everything I needed, and the calm surroundings made for a really restful stay, thanks.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Amazing views of the north sea. Easy access and lots of space. We wanted to be by the cliff top so the site kindly lent us an extension for our electric hook up. Toilets and showers are very clean and modern.

Disliked More fresh water points at the far end of the site. Unless we missed it

Liked The view was amazing, epic scenery. Easy walk into town and shops so a great location.

Disliked Minimal and low quality toilet and showers. Paid for an electric pitch but needed a 25m extension cable to reach from the hook up to our pitch, only thanks to a kind stranger who leant me one were we able to use the electric. This should have been made clear and really the site should have provided.

From the manager: Hi David you don’t necessarily need a long cable. The only reason that you did is because you were staying with your friends who are regulars and like been on the cliff top. When you stay with us you can choose whether to stay near the electric points or towards the cliff top. And the cable you were given was one of ours.

Powered grass campsite

Liked The site is just wonderful and the staff on site are so helpful. We have stayed here quite a lot over the last 6 weeks and they have been so accommodating. If available we have been staying on the cliff top (beautiful views). It is a lovely walk (20 mins) to the town and also at the end of the site you can access the beach which is fab when the tide is out. The site is beautifully kept and well organised and the facilities are very clean. There is swings for the children and plenty of space for ball games and kite flying. We are looking forward to many more stays in the future and this is by far the best campsite in Withernsea.

Local attractions

History and heritage abound around here: you're about five minutes' drive from such spots as RAF Holmpton bunker or Withernsea's well-maintained lighthouse museum, where you can learn about the area's mariners and airfarers of yesteryear. There are several more museums to explore in Hull (40 minutes), including Wilberforce House, where you can find out more about abolitionist and MP William Wilberforce, Kingston upon Hull's most celebrated son. Birdwatchers should pack some sturdy footwear, some binoculars and a thermos flask and head to Spurn Point (20 minutes), a spectacular nature reserve that extends for well over a mile into the North Sea. Seabirds also flock to Flamborough Head (an hour), just north of Bridlington, which is well worth visiting if you don't mind the drive. Brought kids who'll need to be kept entertained? Take them for a spin around the animal enclosures at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo (35 minutes), or alternatively pack plenty of spare change and dispatch them to the arcades in Withernsea and Hornsea.
