This eco-friendly campsite offers spacious spots and a peaceful, back-to-basics experience in a beautiful rural setting. Guests rave about friendly staff, the great coffee barn, and unique amenities like outdoor showers. While composting toilets could be "a bit smelly" when busy, they were clean. Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Lots of space and quiet even though there was a mixed aged group on site. We love the coffee barn anyway food and service is always excellent. Lots of walks and cycle routes and the grandchildren love the animals.
Disliked The composting toilets can get smelly especially when the site is busy and the den/play area is getting a bit sad.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We really love this site for its back to basics set up. It's our 3rd time visiting and we'll definitely be back again. Cute coffee barn on site too which did a lovely breakfast.
Disliked The cafe/bar wasn't open on an evening this year which was a shame.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and for choosing to stay with us again – we’re delighted to hear this was your third visit and that you’ll be returning. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed the breakfast in our Coffee Barn.
We’re sorry you were disappointed that the café/bar wasn’t open in the evenings during your stay. As a small family-run business in a rural location, we have to carefully balance opening hours with staffing availability and demand. We do open on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the summer holidays and, whenever possible, on additional evenings when the campsite is particularly busy or events are taking place.
We truly appreciate your feedback and your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you back for a fourth visit soon.

Excellent camp site, fabulous hosts
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great campsite, nice and welcoming, pretty informal.
Good pitch sizes.
Free wood for camp fires.
Live band on in the barn one night, didn't even realise the barn was open on the first night, great place, lovely staff, good drinks, outdoor seating with huge field adjacent for the kids to play in.
Nice little informal play area in the woods which the kids enjoyed.
Toilets basic but well kept and rarely had to wait even when busy.
Disliked Not much in the immediate area that's walkable, although if you do your research before booking, that's something that's clear when you look at a map.

Fab site in a great location
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Very clean and tidy site. Friendly and helpful owner
We stayed on non electric field. Freedom to pitch anywhere. Unlimited pitch size. Superb views. Lovely coffee barn with live acoustic artist on Friday evening.
Disliked The showers ran out of hot water by 10 of 11 am as did the washing up. This wouldn't stop us coming back but would be a better experience to have hot water access.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us.
We’re sorry there was an issue with the hot water during your visit. Unfortunately, the electric supply to the hot water feed had tripped off unexpectedly. As soon as we were made aware of the problem, we were able to quickly rectify it and restore the hot water supply.
With hindsight, I should have contacted all guests to keep everyone informed while we resolved the issue, and I apologise for the lack of communication on this occasion.
Friendly staff in the bar & dog friendly.
