Primitive grass campsite
Liked: Clean and tidy, recycling, small, walkable to a pub, fantastic communication with the site owner, dog poo bin, flat pitches, basic amenities but they were well stocked and had everything we needed
Disliked: Could hear the motorway, we were put next to the only other tent there when most of the rest of the campsite was available

From the manager: Hi Anna thank you for your review. We are pleased to know that our facilities catered your needs. We are sorry to hear that you could hear the motorway sound from your tent. How the sound from the motorway carries depends on which way the wind blows. Most of the time our campers can't really hear the motorway but it seemed like during your stay the wind might have been blowing from/into the direction that could increase the sound. Regarding your pitch allocation, the other empty pitches that you saw were all for electric pitches. Your pitch was a non-electric and where it was, was in the section where all of our 4 non-electric pitches were located. During your stay we happened to have 2 other non-electric bookings so that was why you were all pitched next to each other. There's an opportunity to put a special request when a booking is being made and we always try our best to accommodate any special requests. If you change your mind and would like to visit us again, please let us know your preference regarding your pitch location and we will do our very best to fulfil your request 😊 Thank you for staying with us.

Liked: Level well drained pitch on a relatively small site. Covered washing up facilities with hot water and showers. Close to the moterway without being too noisy. There is a good chippy in the adjacent village which serves locally made butchers pies.

Liked: Owner met us, as we were late, and showed us our non electric pitch which was in a quiet area as requested. Ground was grass, flat and firm. owners were very accommodating with my request and excellent communication. We Had nice views of the horses and various birds including a whitethroat 😁 we were very happy with the site, it's nice and quiet with background traffic noise depending on the wind, my partner didn't hear it at night and I sleep with ear plugs anyway. We were very happy with the facilities, very hot showers 4 in total including the family room. Facilties were clean. Impressed with the recycling bins as I'm well into my recycling ♻ 😂. Place to get fresh water, and get rid of grey waste were signed. We prefer back to basic campsites that are in touch with nature, this fitted the bill 😊
Disliked: Nothing
