Liked: We have previously visited dacre lakes in 2021 and really enjoyed it. We were free to pitch the tent where ever we pleased, the bar area was never loud past 11pm and the showers and toilets were always clean but when we returned this weekend it had all changed
Disliked: We got given allocated pitches so was placed right in the middle of the field not ideal for anyone, the only 2 showers the camping field was allocated where always covered in grass and mud, we went to the lake to fish and on the rules you get given it says the fishing is free but when we went to ask where we could fish we were charged £6, when we were checking out i asked the lady on reception if fishing was free and she said yes so i said but we got charged even thought it says free on the rules she said it must have changed, it felt quite unorganised i would have thought the staff should know the rules to help customers quires as much as they can but i felt lost and like we were overcharged when we shouldn’t have been charged in the first place The quiet times at night were 11pm but all we could hear untill 12/1am is people arguing at the bar and just loud people not considering others. Feels like they are prioritising the camping pods and lodges and are trying to discourage camping and touring caravans to go.

Liked: Adventure golf, the quality and size of grass pitch for the tent, friendliness of the staff, value for money
Disliked: Toilets ran out of loo roll a few times, and there was a lot of wet cut grass on the floors of all the toilets and showers. In one shower it had clogged the drain and flooded the floor of the bathroom

Liked: - happy to put our group of families together - Space around tents for playing - flat ground, even grass, easy to put in tent pegs - friendly staff - not excessive rules about noise so we could just relax and chat and play games until late - playground - modern toilets - green surroundings - lake
Disliked: - toilets were sometimes a bit dirty - each night/early morning toilets had no loo roll - our pitch was far from the toilets, last year they also had portaloos on the other side which was better - coffee is expensive

Liked: We love darcre lakeside. We've been every year and will continue. Nothings to much trouble. Pitches are huge and it's clear it's not all about making money. Staff are so helpful and the lake is a bonus for us paddle boarders.
Disliked: Nothing
