  • Adults-only site on 12 acres of peaceful Suffolk farmland
  • Woodbridge 10 minutes' drive; 20 minutes to Ipswich or Sutton Hoo
  • Dogs welcome; pubs and River Deben beach within walking distance
With easy access from the A12 and A14, plus 12 acres of peaceful natural land to its name, Low Farm Campsite is an excellent spot for an easy escape in a splendid Suffolk setting. This lovely location is part of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, and the owners of the site are doing their bit to preserve the local landscapes by returning their farmland to nature. As part of that approach, the guest areas have been designed to sit nicely in the natural setting, with plenty of space so that you’ll never feel crammed in even if the place is full. The idea here is to create peaceful, simple experiences, and with that in mind the owners have set the place up as an adults-only site with just the essential facilities – guests have access to toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re kept on a leash on site – the area’s footpaths and open spaces mean you shouldn’t struggle to find a place for a good walk (whether you’ve got a dog or not). You’re allowed to set up a barbecue here if you’d like to do some outdoor cookery, but there are also a couple of pubs within walking distance serving up good food for those times when you don’t feel like it. Also within easy walking distance is a river beach on the River Deben, with boat trips available. Woodbridge (10 minutes’ drive) and Ipswich (20 minutes) are also close by for shops and places to eat.

What customers say

Guests love this adults-only spot for its quiet vibe, roomy, private sites (especially in the wildlife section), and spotless facilities. Easy self-check-in, beautiful nature, and nearby pubs/walks get rave reviews. Most found the few showers fine, but some mentioned possible waits during peak times.

Wildlife primitive grass campsite

Liked Stayed in the wildlife area which is unserviced and at the time I stayed was very quiet, mid week in early May.
Lovey place to stay with random areas of trees and shrubs making it feel very natural and makes lots of little private areas to place a tent or Camper van.
Showers looked very new and were of a modern design to facilitate easy cleaning.
Walked from the campsite and although some road walking might be required to get to a footpath the roads are very quiet.
Will definitely visit again.

Liked Great campsite with spacious pitches, nice clean toilets and showers and it's adult only!

After we booked we were given a designated plot and the gate code to to get onsite. Couldn't have been simpler.

What struck us was the birdsong! It was a lovely natural haven for birds.

Very convenient for the A12 and A14.

Wildlife primitive grass campsite

Liked I love the wild area, you can pitch anywhere, some beautiful secluded areas, the bird song was amazing this weekend, so relaxing. Love the new showers , extremely clean - hygienic and hot. A very well run, tidy campsite which we come back to during the season. There are quiet lanes for bike rides, good walks, great pubs, plenty of farm land and wildlife.

Disliked Could not fault anything

Liked Loved everything about this campsite!
The pitches clearly labeled.
The grass cut to a beautiful standard.
The showers and toilets are immaculate!!!!
We got two pitches together
Our third party was a little way along so phoned and asked if we can rearrange them to near us, perfectly done! And they were still near to the toilets.
We had barbecues and even allowed a fire
No entertainment or shops on site so we brought everything with us
Amazing ! Thank you for having us x
We went 25th April 2026
Three couples and a dog :)

Disliked No Wi-Fi, but even though I disliked it, it’s an advantage because we had the most amazing time! Everyone was chatting, no one was on their phones, but of course our TV and music wouldn’t work in the evening so early to bed we went :)

Disliked Not really a problem to us and the weather was fantastic! But if u need a phone signal or telly then maybe not for u!
Just a thought to the owner if only 4 vans on site why park them so close with all the space u have made no sense.

Liked Loved the site so quiet and beautiful, loved our pitch location, the new showers were amazing!!!

Disliked Our only niggle was that we could not dispose of our grey waste, being in a camper van it wasn’t possible to get to the area where it was, we usually drive over an area then discharge the water.
And where the new showers are it could do with something like Astro over the mud so you don’t walk in dirt in the lovely new showers as it must be a never ending job for the poor cleaner 😬

Local attractions

Works by Constable and Gainsborough are among the highlights of the art collection at the 16th-century Christchurch Mansion, just north of the town centre in Ipswich (20 minutes' drive). Restaurants and bars line the redeveloped Ipswich Waterfront, where it’s also possible to go on boat trips along the River Orwell. Discovered in 1939, the burial ground at National Trust - Sutton Hoo (20 minutes) yielded an Anglo-Saxon warrior’s boat grave laden with precious artefacts, from an ornate helmet to intricate gold jewellery and gemstones. Most of the treasure is now in London’s British Museum, but there are replicas here, plus a tower to survey the burial ground from above. Fancy a little water-based action? Head to Alton Water Sports Centre (25 minutes), where you can have a go at paddleboarding, hire a canoe to explore this large reservoir, or bounce and slide on the inflatables at the water park. Alton Water also has a couple of fishing spots, bird hides and viewpoints.
