Primitive grass tent campsite (four person)
Liked: Having own plot. Felt very private. Beautiful surroundings Harry was so friendly and helpful WW1 trenches were v cool Firepit and log/kindling offering Dog friendly.
Disliked: We are not well versed campers so would have been great to have access onsite to electricity and hot water. Not really walking distance to pub or shop Shower was a bit too hot

From the manager: Hello, Thank you for the positive review, it's greatly appreciated! We're so glad you enjoyed the privacy of the pitches and beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the remoteness of our site does mean you have to hop in the car to a pub or a shop. We like to keep our camping 'back to basics' which is why there's no electricity on the pitches. There should have been hot water in the toilets as well as the showers, apologies if there wasn't! We hope to see you again soon! Kind regards, Naomi
Friendly and well organised. No caravans or motorhomes - excellent!…

Primitive grass tent campsite (four person)
Liked: Being safe, clean toilets with lights. Map on arrival and early on the day txt with host name and contact. Flat sites, very clean and accessible. Loved every site had chairs/table or picnic table
Disliked: Didn't really like their fire pits. Didn't emit much heat due to high sides. Too wasn't really wide enough to build fire and light it.

From the manager: Hi Michelle, Thank you for the positive review, we're really glad you enjoyed your stay with us! We use the old washing machine drums as fire pits as they're pretty safe in terms of being a fire risk in the woodland. We will have an explore and see if there's anything else we could possibly use or maybe some way we could modify them to make it a bit warmer. Thank you again for the 10/10 review and we hope to see you again some time : ) Kind regards, Naomi

Primitive grass campervan campsite (six person)
Liked: Everything. It was exactly as described and expectations were. The man looking after the site, harry, was an absolute delight and we found him to be incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and thoroughly engaging. We loved the very basic approach as this made camping in our recently converted Vauxhall Combo micro-campervan a more pleasurable and involving experience. Loved the World War I trenches, although we didn't do the guided tour, we were still able to see the them as we explored about the site.
Disliked: Having to go home :-D
