What customers say

This roomy, tranquil campsite provides a simple, natural experience with top-notch, spotless facilities, including hot showers. Guests rave about the generous space between sites, picking their own spot, and fire pit availability. Its quiet rural setting, near North Norfolk sights and wildlife viewing, is a big plus. Downsides: occasional busy restrooms & generator noise.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Absolutely loved this site, self check in and free choice of pitch. So peaceful and relaxing, in the heart of beautiful countryside. Facilities brilliant, rustic but clean. The owners have thought of everything, lots of helpful little touches.
We took their recommendation of The Parlour nearby for breakfast, which was outstanding. Would definitely stay again

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked This campsite was the most peaceful I’ve ever visited, without forgoing the essential provisions, and even some bonus extras. The outdoor showers were clean and enjoyable to use, the washing up facilities and toilets were good, and it was a real bonus to have the fire pits and logs available. The site was very well kept, silent, and the perfect getaway from civilisation.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Peaceful, no road noise. USAF/RAF flypast 8AM each morning so don't need an alarm but that's North Norfolk wherever you stay. Acres of space. Loads of picnic benches. The grass is short enough around the pitches to avoid dew wet feet in the morning, it's long enough to attract field hare at dawn and dusk in the middle of the fields. Excellent base for cycling, lots of empty minor roads. The Chequers in Binham is a friendly pub and the beer is excellent. Facilities were spotless.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Tidy campsite, showers fine, as open to the elements, may be a bit chilly in cooler weather, toilets fine and washing up area fine. Worth the money. No downsides.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Everything! Ground is flat, washing facilities are perfect, showers free and heat is adjustable, charging spots for phones, maps, BBQ and Fire Pits, lots of toilets. Cannot fault this site, best one I’ve been too without a doubt.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Location. Beautiful surroundings. Unregimented. Pitch where you like. Good facilities Hot showers. Fire pits.

Disliked There is a generator on during the day to power the lights in the loos. This is a drag, but not too intrusive if you pitch in the further field.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Spacious, quiet, flat field with clean facilities tucked into the corner of the second field. Friendly and helpful staff. Additional porta-loos when the site is busier.
Lots of places of interest are just a short drive away.

Disliked A bit windy - but that maybe the time of year we visited!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked What can I say, only spent one night here but could have spent so much longer, the place was stunning! Lovely & quiet, amazing facilities ( showers, toilets , immaculate porta-loos, kitchen area, fire pits, individual benches) it was one of the nicest rural pitches I have seen. The price was very reasonable & the check-in & out times were very generous. 100% will go again.

Local attractions

If you’re after pine trees, sandy beaches and a cutesy quay to try out crabbing, Wells-next-the-Sea (a 15-minute drive) is a good stop to add to your list. Further along the coast, there’s an almost endless expanse of beach at the Holkham National Nature Reserve (15 minutes) or Cromer (half an hour), a family-friendly seaside town with a nice stretch of sand good for surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing in the sea. For those who want to name all the different types of birds, Stiffkey (10 minutes) is the place to go. And for more wildlife discovery, Pensthorpe Natural Park (15 minutes) is nicely geared towards families with outdoor activities and eco playgrounds. Looking for something a little different? Holkham Hall (20 minutes) has a walled garden and a rather stately home. There’s also Wiveton Hall (10 minutes) for more historical garden tours. Afterwards, perhaps check out the old abbey grounds and shrine in the historic village of Walsingham (10 minutes), which has popular pilgrimage routes.
