If your dog needs a break as much as you do, then Gumburn Leisure Park could well be the place to make that happen. This Worcestershire site doesn’t accept kids, but the team are more than happy to welcome four-legged family members, who can have a good stretch at the safe dog-walking area and a cleanup using the outside tap if needed. To add to that, a family-run, dog-friendly pub is a five-minute walk away in Sinton Green, serving food in the afternoon/evening most days of the week. This is a small site, with only a handful of pitches, so it’s a very peaceful setup. Its small stature doesn’t mean a lack of facilities, however: guests have access to showers, toilets, a washing-up area and waste disposal, plus a kettle for easy brews (and sometimes you’ll also find the owners popping round with fresh free-range eggs if you want to buy any…) The site’s grass pitches are within the grounds of a 75-acre family-run sheep farm, where you can sit and gaze out over the farmland. There are lots of quiet roads and paths to roam along nearby, and it’s about a 25-minute drive to more trails in the Malvern Hills National Landscape. For a change of scenery, take the 25-minute drive to Worcester for shops, restaurants and a visit to the cathedral. For eats closer to home, guests can take a five-minute stroll to the village's pet-friendly country pub, which serves a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, wholesome pub grub, coffees and hot chocolates. It's open daily, with food served between 12pm and 8pm and a beer garden or indoor area with an open fire. There’s also a fish and chip van in the neighbouring village every Saturday night, or you can take the 10-minute drive to Ombersley for restaurants and pubs (one of which has a Michelin star, no less…) If you’d rather stick to self catering, stock up at the local farm shops, butchers and veg shops, then light up a barbecue by your pitch.

  • The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

  • There are currently no fishing facilities available onsite due to ongoing works.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
  • A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Units heavier than 5000 kgs are not allowed.
  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Liked Great value for money and nice location with great views. Pub easily walkable from site. Quiet site very peaceful and only 5 pitches. Small dog walk too!

Disliked There wasn’t any hot water the couple of times I went to wash up but no big deal really.

Liked Very clean and peaceful. Super large pitch. Lovely area. Basic but clean facilities. Definitely will return.

Disliked The hot water wasn't working for the sinks in the shower room or pot wash.
The shower was electric so that wasn't an issue and was lovely and we did use the supplied kettle to boil water to wash our pots.

Liked I’ve been here a few times away peaceful and relaxing.
Toilets and showers are shared 1water tap in middle of field and 16 amp electric all clean.
Nice pub 10 mins away

Liked Friendly welcome. Peace and quiet. Level pitching. Left to our own devices.

Disliked No phone signal, so would have expected more of an effort to ensure wifi. There is no wifi. It makes planning days out, weather forecast, banking all the more difficult.
I think the facilities need bringing up to date and separating into mens and womens.

From the manager: What a shame that you would not visit again. Signal is something that we all struggle with in the countryside I’m afraid and the Wi-Fi is free because it is currently the best we can get here so we would not charge our campers for it. Our facilities are clean and tidy and although not the most modern we feel give a shabby chic country feel and provide very good value for money.

Liked Very very quiet and peaceful, woken to the sounds of birds and sheep. Lovely setting and excellent price. Everything clean and very tidy and liked the area for recycling etc.
Toilets and showers clean, lovely to have a kettle in there just in case an issue with your own facilities. We were very lucky as there were only two staying, but maybe one more toilet/shower would be lovely as if more staying then may get a little full but they were immaculate so cannot fault.
Pub just five minutes walk very friendly serving lovely food so can highly recommend

Liked Liked the view over the grazing sheep. Not full of other caravaners so was nice and peaceful and could easily use facilities. Was kept nice and clean. Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of leaflets for things local to do.

Disliked Facilities sparse but it was not very busy so no worries.

Local attractions

Walking boots at the ready… the Malvern Hills National Landscape (25 minutes’ drive) has some spectacular landscapes, including the Beacon Loop from Great Malvern, the Millennium Hill loop or North Hill. While nature takes some of the glory around these parts – as it rightly should – there's also a range of historical properties that are equally as spectacular. One is the birthplace of the composer Sir Edward Elgar, named The Firs (10 minutes' drive) and a lovely place for a stroll in the cottage gardens. Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), where fashionable people once partied, is now an excellent patch for woodland walks or garden strolls, and there are Spetchley Park Gardens (25 minutes) and Priory Park gardens (half an hour) for more of that sort of stuff. If you’d rather spend an afternoon sipping on the fine stuff and touring a vineyard, head to Astley Vineyard (15 minutes). Alternatively, plan ahead and find yourself an event at the Three Counties Showground (35 minutes).
