Power optional gravel RV campsite

Liked: We stayed for two nights in our campervan. I asked for a quiet spot and they had reserved the pitch furthest away from the pub for us. The grounds are pretty and well kept. We only ate in the restaurant on one night - I had the chilli and it was delicious. They have a good menu and speciality dishes - best to make a reservation as the restaurant is popular. They have a small farm shop/cafe on site which is very convenient- we didn't eat there but the cakes looked lovely. The freshly baked bread I bought was a real treat. There's also a convenience shop in the village.

Disliked: It wasn't a problem for us, but the site is on a big slope, so if you have mobility issues it could be a challenge.

Power optional gravel RV campsite

Liked: Showers, loos, water, chemical disposal and shop with cafe on site and pub. Food was good in pub and in cafe. Nice patio area.

Disliked: Pub was quite dated inside and did smell of dog. Plus there’s a cat in the pub that wonders freely. Not good when you’re allergic. People didn’t follow the no shoes in showers rule and the floors were dirty.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I find this review quite insulting. We are dog friendly but certainly doesn’t smell. Pub cats are quite common especially in village pubs but it’s a shame you’re allergic. We clean our showers atleast twice a day, we can’t do a lot about the shoes rule, we have put signs up and clean regularly, not sure what more you expect.

Liked: The site was beautifully maintained and lovely garden and planting areas. Good toilet and shower facilities. The staff in both the pub and the cafe were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely, fresh produce in the cafe…… the cakes especially! We enjoyed the Biker Night event on our first night and Live Music on the second….. a well timed visit!
