Liked: Having toilet area that was kept clean during our stay

Disliked: Cold water in toilets when washing hands no where dry hands ! Not having shower facilities & too noisy camping on road side of the field maybe put more electric hook ups on another field away from road

Liked: Walking distance to Upton-upon-Severn which is a lovely little village

Disliked: On arrival there are 3 phone numbers on the gate. The first didn't answer, the second wouldn't connect and the third was reluctant to help when they did answer and only when we pushed them because we couldn't get hold of the other 2, did they say we could park wherever. Communal EHU and free for all on the field space, which meant everyone was crowded around the electric. We paid for electric and ended up not being able to use it, as we didn't want to be squashed in between everyone else. Parked on the far side of the field instead, which everyone else was avoiding because of the road noise. Chemical disposal was pretty disgusting, with an upturned traffic cone as a funnel and no way of rinsing the toilet cassette after. No bin, which wasn't an issue for us but bin bags were just left to pile up.

Local attractions

Upton Upon Severn’s a fab little town – as well as supping in its pubs and browsing in its independent shops, you’ll want to check out the pretty half-timbered buildings and the medieval church affectionately known as the ‘Pepperpot’. Time visits well and you can get stuck into events at the town’s various music festivals. It’s also a handy hub for getting out to see a bit more of that gorgeous Worcestershire countryside: hire boats just across the road to glide along the Severn or hit the Severn Way, a few minutes’ walk away, to ramble or ride bikes by the water’s edge. Go far enough along the river and you’ll eventually hit Tewkesbury (to the south) or Worcester (to the north). If your legs won’t propel you quite so far, drive to the former in 10 minutes or the latter in 20 minutes – both have excellent historic buildings to visit and pretty streets to wander in. Speaking of wanders, it’s worth planning more ambles up in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, about 10 minutes’ drive away – there’s plenty of choice both for strollers and those seeking something more challenging.
