Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Lovely site with beautiful views (even with the almost non-stop rain!) Facilities are basic but everything you'd need from a semi-wild type site - flushing toilet, sink with hot water and a shower. Was also easy to find and we pretty much had the site to ourselves which was an added bonus! Price was also an absolute bargain

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Amazing views, quiet, and lots of space. Surrounded by wildlife. We weren't after much. It has a toilet and shower., facilities are minimal, but we weren't after fancy and they suited the trip well. Remember to take toilet roll just in case. Very relaxed atmosphere and looking forward to coming back

Disliked: The weather, but that can't be helped.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Really lovely site with the most amazing views. The farmer/owner was very welcoming and friendly. Clean toilet and shower facilities. Yes there is only one toilet and shower but we didn't find this a problem at all The shower was lovely and warm. Not sure what previous problems were but you only need to turn the gas on not touch the shower unit and all will work perfectly.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Not a lot really, site is a bit remote, left it late to book anything so limited choices.

Disliked: When we arrived the owner was not on site, took 3/4 attempts to get hold of him to find out which pitch we were on, I informed him of what I had done to get our hook up and he said it was fine until someone else returned later that night. Toilet is a shed with a single toilet with a single shower in the same shed, and people were washing their dishes there too, not enough facilities for the size of the site.

Liked: The views from the pitch were breathtaking and the sunset over the hills was amazing.

Disliked: Bank holiday weekend the site could have done with more toilets than just one, had to queue morning and night to use it.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked: A beautiful location with amazing views. Very peaceful. We pitched up on the overflow field and pretty much had the field all to ourselves. Reasonably priced. Toilet waste clean. There is electric hook up if needed.

Disliked: Only one toilet with shower inside to share amongst all guests so not ideal. Would have been better if the shower and toilet were seperated so that toilet isn't occupied while people are showering. Also another toilet would be helpful.

Local attractions

If you've brought the dog, the National Trust-owned Brockhampton (20 minutes’ drive) has wonderful walks (lovely in spring when the bluebells are out), while Witley Court and Gardens is a spectacular ruin surrounded by formal plantings and woodland paths. It’s also worth checking out Ludlow (30 minutes), with a half-timbered, medieval town centre packed by pubs and restaurants, and riverside Bewdley (25 minutes) has pretty Georgian houses, traditional pubs and arty shops overlooking the Severn. Here, you can jump on a steam train for an expedition on the Severn Valley Railway between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. You’ve had your fun, so treat the kids to theirs. You can’t go wrong with the high wires at Go Ape Wyre Forest (20 minutes) or spending the day at West Midland Safari Park (45 minutes), spotting lions and zebras in drive-through compounds and riding coasters in the family-friendly Adventure Theme Park. Another hit with the kids might well be the annual Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb (15 minutes), if you’re here in August.
