  • Traditional and welcoming pub site at the foot of the Malvern Hills
  • Three miles from the Three Counties Showground
  • Dogs welcome on site and in the pub; menu of Indian street food
It's just as well for one's waistline that the Malverns have some of the best hiking and ramble routes in the land – for there's a tasty menu of North Indian cuisine to get through at The Marlbank Inn. And it's just as well that said walks are simple to access too, as you might be a tad full after sampling said menu: the inn and its campsite are at the foot of the Malvern Hills within easy reach of scenic and slimming walks. The Marlbank Inn is in rural Worcestershire, close to geocaching and treasure trails, fishing and bike rides, and Worcestershire Golf Club for gentle teeing off. Events and shows are easily sorted from here too, as the Three Counties Showground is within three miles. The Marlbank is a traditional and welcoming country pub, with a sheltered camping field well placed for handsome views over the hills. Family attractions like Ice Quest Malvern and a leisure centre with pool are within 15 minutes' drive. Facilities include toilets and showers, drinking water, an undercover washing-up area and disabled facilities, along with chemical disposal and ice pack freezing. Dogs are welcome on site and in the pub.

What customers say

Great location for Malvern Hills walks. The Marlbank Inn gets rave reviews for its food and staff. Campsite facilities are basic, dated, and need upkeep. Some guests experienced communication issues.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Easy to find location once I went in to the pub to 'check in'. Had good facilities in the pub which can be accessed 24/7. Nice flat pitch next to hedgerow and some trees so good shelter. The pub owners were so lovely and the food is AMAZING! Highly recommend forgetting a dinner ingredient so you have to dine in the pub like I did! Dog friendly, safe and secure.

Disliked The pitch is close to a road which meant it was not as peaceful, but thankfully there is not much traffic at night so my sleep was not affected! Also the sight does need the hedges trimmed and litter picked up to make it a bit tidier.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Access to pub and village for steam rally with nice surroundings and views.

Disliked Needs updating, chemical loo and wash area are old and very unhygienic , covered by brambles. Expensive for a small site, only one shower working and loos messy which were located in the pub. Water on site hidden by an old tree and Han standing was uneven. No WIFI on site on in pub.

Liked Small quiet pitch site for all types. Loos and shower available (push button normal electric shower)
Stayied here as close to wellend steam fair to bike in each day. Worked well.
Everyone was friendly.

Disliked Think one shower was out of order, and the outside sink area could be improved.
Cold tap didn't work.
Also struggled to locate pitch, new pitch board, would be good. As looked at old pictures on pitch up website.

Liked The pub, the landlord and food was brilliant! Keep it up 🍺
We used it somewhere to sleep and shower in our caravan as we was at the rally all weekend.

Disliked Dated!! The whole site needs a lot TLC. It’s a shame that it’s been left and no care what so ever!
It’s in unfair on landlord who doesn’t know what’s going on he has nothing todo with the site.
Trees need cutting back drastically we couldn’t even fit on the hard standing pitch as trees was overhanging! The main entrance to site off car park is so overgrown too. The grass hasn’t been cut in months! Good job we dint have no rain as think all the electric would have tripped! See photo. If can’t find your hook up most likely it’s in the overgrowth. Same as the fresh water tap!!
Not safe at all. There has been no one on site to check you in, would be good idea to put few signs up telling you where pitches our where toilets, clean water, showers etc.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The Marlbank pub itself is fantastic, very friendly and helpful staff, fabulous food, it's the reason we come here for a one night stay every year and never disappoints.

Disliked Unfortunately the site itself is now very run down, the grounds need a tidy up, only 1 shower working and there was a leak in the female toilets.
If it wasn't for the fantastic food at the Marlbank we wouldn't use the campsite.

Liked Site was in good condition. Lovely pub next door. Close to the Malverns for good hiking. Reasonable site for a short stay.

Disliked No clear check in process caused a bit of confusion. Only one working shower when I was there. Sharing bathroom facilities with the pub customers.

Liked Peaceful site and having the pub on your doorstep an advantage. We've been coming to this site for years due to close proximity to many places of interest and also the good food available at the pub. Unfortunately the kitchen closed at 7.0 on Sunday so we were unable to eat there on our last night.

Disliked The campsite has become quite neglected recently. We had difficulty attaching the electric hook up as everything overgrown with brambles. Andy , who I think is the owner of the pub , helped us with the set up.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Good phone support. Quiet location.

Disliked Not value for money. The pitch was average, I needed chocs to level, the washing up and chemical disposal worked but were basic. Waste bin nearly full. Comparing with other local sites, this was not good - other local sites have far better facilities at £10 a night less. Needs a price review! My feedback is based on staying at other local sites nearly every week this year..

Local attractions

After all those Malvern Hills hikes (for that really is a mighty fine menu in The Marlbank Inn), set off for indoor and outdoor days around the Malverns and its countryside. Days out for families include laser questing and ice skating at Ice Quest Malvern; taking the self-guided Spy Mission treasure trail around the hills, and pummelling clay into submission at Green Frog Pottery, 15 minutes' drive away. Kids – and grownups – of a certain sort might also like the Malvern Museum of Local History; if not, Ledbury's 19th-century Eastnor Castle has regular events including family days and sword fighting sessions (foam swords, you may be somewhat relieved to hear). Both museum and castle are 10 minutes' drive away. For a peaceful day out, drive 25 minutes to the meadow valleys, orchards and woodland of The Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve, to look out for woodpeckers and nuthatches, dormice and bats (the reserve has 11 of the UK's 15 breeding species). Pick up a free trail leaflet or buy a family trail guide and information booklet at the visitor centre, to head out after another bite to eat in the picnic area.
