  • Spacious family-friendly site in an old Worcestershire pear orchard
  • A 10-minute drive from Evesham and 35 minutes from Worcester
  • Playground and dog exercise area on site, local bus from site entrance
According to the site’s owners, guests at Evesham Vale Caravan Park are always (pleasantly) surprised by just how much there is to do nearby. If that piques your interest and sounds like exactly the kind of hol you want, be sure to sort stays at the family-friendly site 10 minutes’ drive from Evesham in Worcestershire. In an old pear orchard in a nicely rural spot, the site is well-placed for countryside rambles, starting right on site with a lengthy walk around the grounds. Humans aren’t the only visitors who’ll be getting exercise either – dogs are more than welcome, and the on-site dog exercise area should give canine chums a healthy outlet for energy. There’s an outlet for younger humans too, with a kids’ playground on site. Ready for getting out and about in Worcestershire? The site is on the bus line between Evesham and Pershore, and the bus stops at the site entrance, making it an absolute cinch to explore even without the car. If staying put is preferable, make the most of the quiet by sitting outside with a book or (and?) a barbecue, and soaking up the views towards the nearby Malvern Hills.

Local attractions

History buffs can get started on interesting stays in Evesham, 10 minutes’ drive away, where the Almonry Museum and Heritage Centre will get guests started, as will trips to the site where Evesham Abbey once stood (and where a major conservation effort is underway) and journeys on the heritage railway. The town’s also a jumping off point for further-flung watery adventures with boat trips along the Avon. More outdoorsy time is to be had with scenic drives, hikes, bikes and horse riding tours in the Cotswolds (20 minutes away), or at All Things Wild (also 20 minutes), where kids can meet the farm animals and lemurs, try out the dinosaur experience, and make the most of indoor and outdoor play areas. Dip a foot back into the past with visits to the stately piles hereabouts: it’s 20 minutes to Snowshill Manor and Gardens, 25 minutes to the Tudor House Museum, Croome Park, Ragley Hall and Sudeley Castle, and half an hour to Tewkesbury Abbey. Urban excursions should begin in Stratford-upon-Avon (30 minutes), which bookish types will know as Shakespeare’s birthplace. It’s also home to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and a lovely butterfly farm. A little further afield, visits to the city of Worcester (35 minutes) come highly recommended for its Tudor-period architecture, its museums, its shopping and Greyfriars’ House.
