If your one touring holiday must-have is excellent views, you should be quite pleased with Lower Moorend View Certificated Location. Only available to Caravan and Motorhome Club members, the family-run site has a small number of well-maintained hardstanding pitches overlooking the Staffordshire countryside. Where is this pretty place? It’s in the village of Cauldon and under two miles from Waterhouses, which is just off the A523. Family- and dog-friendly, the site has toilet facilities, and each pitch (measuring four by eight metres) is super flat and equipped with its very own electric hook-up and water points. More pluses, in addition to the views and the friendly vibe: several pubs serving Staffordshire ales and excellent food, a shop and a fish and chip shop are within a 35-minute walk of the site. Between them, Ashbourne, Leek and Cheadle (all a short drive away) have supermarkets, antique shops and garden centres. Cafés and tea rooms are also within a short drive of the site. Lower Moorend View Certificated Location is just a couple of miles from the edge of the Peak District National Park, where there are many walks and cycling trails. You may also want to take note of other local attractions, which include Alton Towers, 10 minutes’ drive away, and the Peak Wildlife Park, five minutes’ drive away.
