Liked: Proximity to town and the lovely walk along river to get there. Pitches are a good size and hard standing with water and electricity to each pitch.
Disliked: The site needs to decide whether it’s a campsite or a car park. We stayed for 3 nights and each evening from 5.30 - 8pm we were hemmed in by cars parking to attend a kids singing show. This prevented us from sitting out and enjoying a bbq with any privacy. Also the kids arrived earlier in the day and were using the porta cabin bathrooms along with the toilet blocks so any need to use meant queuing up for long periods. I do think that the bathrooms should be for the sole use of campers. Also there was no soap or towels to wash and dry hands. Expensive for what it is.

Liked: Everything!! We had a lovely welcome off Sue who greeted us by name on our arrival, we received a welcome pack with loads of information of the surrounding areas and activities. We were escorted to the hard standing area and told we could choose our spot. Lovely clean site, so much space. There was a huge car boot on the Sunday and also a brilliant dog show. We had electric hook up, all other utilities were very close by. The facilities were very clean and there were plenty of them. We cannot wait to visit again. We were also told that ot is run by a charity which makes us feel like we would want to visit on a regular basis as there is so much to do, there and in the surrounding areas. We ended up staying an extra night as we enjoyed it so much.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: We were absolutely delighted to find how accurate all the positive reviews we’d read about this site were. We were met by Sue the host who was friendly informative and (rightly) very enthusiastic about the site. We especially enjoyed the milk machine which was on site. It was a quiet period in June so we had a choice of pitch (we’d booked hard-standing for our motorhome as the weather had been very wet previously but the grassed areas had all dried out and were useable). We chose a spot down “Tree Avenue” close to electric and water point. If you haven’t been before – do make sure you have a long electric cable – some of the EHU points can be quite a way from a pitch. The site was really peaceful and has a pleasant walk near the river – this area does have a reputation for flooding over the winter and suffered very badly last winter but everything is looking good now. The site is ideally positioned near Shrewsbury centre and just a pleasant 15-20 minute walk into the centre, bus and train stations. There were a couple of events at the showground during our stay – a regular car boot sale and a schools’ choir event. The car boot didn’t affect us as it was on a separate part of the ground and we just had the amusement of watching cars parking around us for the choir event! (We also had a free concert from the choirs).
